There has been some dicussion of STD's on the board of late.  No question condoms are the way. to go but surely im not the only one who has had a condom break or come off after completion, if so do you get test.  Personally i walk around scared to death to i get the ok from my doc. opinions?

I get tested every 3 months.  Yes I have had condoms break on me.  I get test on a regular basic I do she my test results I am very clen if I was not clean I would of stop escorting.  yes it very scary when a condom breaks

Most condom failures are human error.  
* To start, use enough lube that there is not too much friction with the condom and the body.  Lube is your friend!  
* Condoms are not "one size fits all"... finding the right condom for you will go a long ways towards keeping you safe.  
* Proper storage away from heat/cold/sunlight is also important.  If you are vigorously playing, check how secure the condom is now and then and change it if you are feeling stretch.  
* IMMEDIATELY after you come, hold the base of the condom on securely and pull out.

An experienced lady should be well aware of all of this and be on top of it... though for your own peace of mind, feel free to take the initiative to ensure all is well.

IF with all the above you have a condom break or come off, yes please see your doctor.  There is no need to walk around in a panic until the test results come back.  The majority of instances of unprotected sex do not result in acquiring an STD!  That said, either abstain or cover Mr. Willy if you play in the window where you are waiting for the "all clear."

A final note is that some infections have a window where they are not detectable.  After you receive the all clear you should retest as per your doctors suggestion.  (Often at 3 months and again at 6 months.)  If you play regularly you should test regularly, whether or not you have a condom malfunction.

I am not a Dr, but sure get tested.  Heck get tested if it does not break also....you never know.
What I DONT KNOW is how long after exposure can you get tested for a solid confirmation. One day, one week, 90 days??????

I don't know about you, but I try to see women that I would consider at least somewhat responsible as well as comely - and were I to think for even a moment "wow - sure hope the rubber doesn't break, I'd hate to come into direct contact with this disease infested cumdumpster" well, let's just say I might have a little trouble convincing ol' Luther to stand up.

That said, I would absolutely get tested, it is the responsible thing to do. Also, I'd avoid going bareback with the SO, for obvious reasons.

Why aren't you guys (and gals) worried about pregnancy?

I would bet most of the posters on this board are clean of STDs, but I would be more worried about knocking up a provider (that is, if I didn't have a vasectomy).

So ladies? What's the anti-pregnancy back-up plan if the condom fails? Sue for Child Support?

Apparently, when properly used, they're around 99% effective at preventing pregnancy. Crazy, huh?

HIV/syphillis - most doctors say 6-8 weeks is fine, CDC says 3 months. However, there are no documented cases of someone seroconverting after 6 weeks (unless your immune system is severly compromised)

The rest of them you can do within a week, except herpes, which some say 6 months, but that's extreme.

and so is my gnarly old crank.  I caught less than 10 instances of STDs in those 20 years each of which went away with a shot of penicillin or a course of other antibiotics and left no effect behind.

Would you rather have clap or gono or pretty much anything short of HIV, which can be cured quickly and easily, or rheumatic fever, typhoid, yellow fever, ebola, etc etc. STDs are not something to panick about just because they are transmitted by fucking and sucking instead of breathing or eating or drinking bad water etc.

What to do?

Test regularly and use protection. and common sense. I've been "covered" since it came into vogue. A pain yes but common sense.

Now about your woopsy - it happens *all the time* in this biz. I must have had it happen to me twenty times at least last year. It's not a crisis. Your odds of contracting a VD *per instance of exposure* are actually quite low even if present. And your odds of contractinig HIV per instance of exposure is also astonishingly low. As little as one instance in *10,000* of uncovered PIV sex according to several sources I've seen
So don't panic.

Go ahead and get tested again (you are testing regularly,right? Your health is your responsibility and yours alone....). This way however low the risk you will know, and won't pass anything along.....

And take stock a minute - this sport is not for the squeamish or faint of heart.....

Of course, women have more reason to be worried. Chlamydia and gonorrhea can do a lot of damage before it's detected.

I get it, Carrie. The pill was a great boon to my civvie sex life. I was condom-free for the majority of my civvie relationships before marriage.

I was just wondering if the providers, since they insist on condoms, also use the pill (or some other method). I would think that in the civvie world, girls rely on the condom for both STD protection AND pregnancy protection.

Which is why there are so many unplanned pregnancies in the US, btw...

I have to agree with her post 110%.
Where I do believe most women get tested often and the industry as a whole is very safe.
I have heard stories from ladies and clients about condoms not being used.
There are some that in the heat of the moment, drinking, or for extra cash will go bare back.
So I don't think anything is 100%.
I don't think you should ever have to panic.
Yet, if you are concerned go to the doctor. Keep in mind men are sometimes "carriers" and don't show signs. As well as, some STD's have a large window that may require multiple testing.

A condom break is a rare occurrence if used properly with lube.

I've been sexually active for 22 years and in this biz for over 5.  I've had condom breaks/slips exactly three times in my LIFE.

If you have that high of a failure incidence you are doing something wrong.  Try reading the instructions on your next box of condoms to figure out what it is.

As is often mentioned, professional ladies are generally more aware of the risks, including pregnancy, that sex can have AND are more likely to take steps to reduce those risks. Personally, I know that I was a lot more lax when I was a civilian (although the foolishness of youth is also to blame there!)

I'd venture to guess that the majority of providers are on some form of birth control (oral contraceptives, IUDs, injectable hormones, etc.) as well as using condoms. And, as Sophie mentioned, there is emergency contraception. While its efficacy is much lower than that of regular BC (around 70% if used as soon as possible, decreasing as time since the "oops" moment passes), it is now available over the counter.

This concerns me- maybe the providers you are seeing are using massage oil on you... and that is causing a breakdown in the latex?  Or maybe the lady needs a little extra "help" in the lubrication department... especially if there are many position changes?  I have been a provider since 2001 and have entertained quite a few gentlemen and I have NEVER heard of someone having that many issues in ONE year!

Only water and silicone base lubes are friends.  Oil based lubes weaken condoms and make them more prone to breakage.

Condom slippage and breakage occurs 1 to 3 % of the time. Much of this is due to poor handling and storage of condoms and using condoms beyond their expiration date. I cringe when I hear ladies allowing their client to bring and use their own condoms and not knowing the history of the condom. For most STDs like HIV , Gonorrhea and Chlamydia the risk risk is 2 to 5 time greater for the women if the condom slips or breaks

I assume some things are common sense and common knowledge, and certainly missed that point.  There are many options for lubricant that are not good with condoms.  Thank you.

I had one condom break a couple years back during Greek.  There was ample lube but sometimes it just happens.  I made sure to get tested at 2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and again at a year.  All was clean.  The provider in question gets tested bi-weekly, I still see her from time to time when she comes through the area (she sadly relocated to Calgary) and all is well with her.

It was a bit nerve wracking, but it's a known risk of the hobby.  I get tested every 6 weeks to 3 months no matter if a condom breaks or not.  Just seems like the right thing to do.  As one SP put it though - it pays to be safe because we all have so much to lose if an STD comes into play...usually the clients more than the providers since many of us have wives, jobs where this hobby is frowned upon, and families.

I think I'd be more scared if the condom broke with some girl from a bar than a well reviewed provider. At least you know (or are pretty sure) the provider will be on some kind of birth control.  With the girl from the bar, you might be remembering that drunken stupor and condom failure for the next 18 years.

then what about all the microscopic breaks that you don't see with your naked eye. It is highly possible to have a microscopic break occur before any visual break is seen by your eyes. So every time you have sex you should be scared afterwards.

When you eject sperm, you don't see all the tiny swimmers in the spern do you? No, because they are microscopic.

Usually a condom being left inside happens during withdrawl (even if just changing positions.)  Before pulling the bodies away from one another grab and anchor the base of the condom so that it stays put as you withdraw.  It's also a good time to make sure that you are still snug and that there is plenty of (water based or silicone lol!) lube.

If you are leaving it inside the lady while still fully erect you have a sizing issue.  Go online to one of the many sites that sells condoms and try to find something that will fit you better.  They even sell custom sized condoms:

If that doesn't work you may want to try the female condom.

The probability any one sperm cell fertilizing human oocytes is very low.  An ejaculate with less than 40 million sperm is consider abnormal.  If the sperm count drops below 10 million/ml the person is consider infertile.  The probability of pregnancy is essential nil if microscopic break in the condom resulting in leaking as much as a million sperm cells

There are other kinds of oral contraceptives out there, but the combo pill (estrogen and progesterone) is the most common and most effective. Pregnancy protection varies by brand and when during your menstrual cycle you start taking them, but typically it's after 7 days of continuous use. Primarily, they work by inhibiting ovulation, so there's no egg released for the sperm to get busy with.

"Microtears" don't really exist (unless the condom you're using is expired or improperly stored). Even lambskin condoms, which have pores large enough to allow STD pathogens through, don't allow the much larger sperm cell through.

They aren't failproof, of course, but no pregnancy prevention save abstinence is. Linked below is a chart of various contraceptive methods and their failure rates. As you can see, "perfect" condom use (putting it on correctly at the appropriate time, ensuring that it's not expired, using a condom-safe lube, KEEPING IT ON, etc.) has a failure rate of only 2%. That's still too high for some people (including myself), so if you're very concerned at preventing pregnancy, additional contraceptive methods should be used.

Men who have lots of precum or a thicker base cock with a condom that is too small with often loose their condoms.  Use a cock ring around the base and for larger based cocks use a vivid or magnum xtra large condom.  

I've never had one break.

The feeling is very different ..one off and one on.

Be aware, know yourself , be careful and if the worst happens get tested immediately for everything just in case.

Here are several things that come to mind...

1.) You mention penis girth and "unsual shape."  If by this you mean that you are wider at the base and narrower at the tip- then that shape *IS* particularily prone to slipage and requires periodic pulling out *part way* and GLANCING down or reaching down and checking the statis of things... this can be done in like .5 seconds and thus should not be distruptive...

2.) Seeing "experienced upper mid level to high end providers" has pretty much NOTHING to do with it!  Ladies cannot always FEEL that things are starting to erm... *slip* and thus need you guys to help making sure everything is in place.  This is especially the case with the extra thin condoms.

3.) I think I read in one of your other posts a while back that you like the "lazy dog" position... I like this one as well, but it is notorious for slipage *IF* the lady's legs are on the INSIDE and pressed together, while the guy's are outside.. because of the increased amount of friction...
