I was in Colombia last year and had a blast. Bogeys was fine, Cartagena was fine, as was Cucuta.

I've been intending to go back there since I visited to Cocal in Jaco a few years ago, and now I finally have firm plans.

Looks like Nicaragua and Venszuela are off-limits, though. Has anyone here been having fun in Costa Rica, Panama or Colombia lately? :)

but I can tell you that Costa Rica is still pretty much the same, although it's been continuing on its slow slide downwards from it's heyday of a decade or so ago. Street crime is now  a definite issue to be aware of in Jaco and after dark it's advisable to take a taxi anywhere you go, even if it's only a few blocks.

Panama is hot and cold. The only sure thing about Panama is change. Whatever you do, do NOT stay at the Veneto, it has most definitely seen better days, I would advise staying at Trump and taking a cab to playgrounds like the Habana. Yes, the Marriott is only right across the street, but the Marriott has always been very "chica unfriendly" unless you are an expert in the art, getting a puta up to your room at the Marriott is almost impossible.

As for Colombia, Colombia is a big place. Medellin and Bogota are my two favorite cities and there is still plenty of fun in both places although the scene in Bogota has changed quite a bit as the Colombian yuppies have taken over the Carrera 15 area in the north side of the city just south of the Parque 93 in the Zona Rosa. That area used to be full of clubs, MPs and all sorts of action, but the yuppies have pretty much taken over and "cleaned up" the area. There are still a lot of other areas in the north part of town and of course old staples like La Piscina and El Castillo are still running strong if you are into that kind of place.

As for Venezuela and Nicaragua, Nicaragua has always been a shithole not worth visiting unless you are bringing a chica with you to one of the playas, Managua is the only real city and as I mentioned it's a shithole. Venezuela is WAY too fucking dicey for anyone without a death wish to visit, but the good news is a lot of the VERY hot Venezuelans have made their way out of the country and are now working in both Colombia and Panama. One word of caution about the Venezuelans though, many of them are being "managed" and while they aren't exactly "victims" of human trafficking, they are quite happy to have escaped Venezuela and are living lives a thousand times better than the true victims left back home, personally I still don't like seeing women who are being pimped. but it's pretty easy to tell which women have "management"

I hope this helps.

The Joshua Holt case was enough of a deal-breaker for me that I didn't bother to read about what street-crime is like in Venezuela these days. You're right about the exodus, though.

Thanks for the tip about the Marriott. Some Ticas were complaining about a similar problem at the nice hotels in SJ a year or so ago, but I can't confirm it.

If you're the one who sent me a PM, I need to renew my VIP. I don't have the same hobby e-mail anymore, and I lost my contacts with it, but I think I can remember your e-mail address (unless you put a number on the end of it).

There are several Marriotts in CR, I think I have stayed at all of them at one time or the other. The only ones where you might have an issue are the one in Heredia, I was dating a tica at the time and wasn't bringing putas in and out of the place, but it most definitely had a "family" flair to it and I could tell working girls would be frowned upon. The other where you need to keep a low profile is the Los Suenos Resort in Playa Herradura, putas are allowed on the property as long as they are not overt about it, and trolling for tricks is most definitely prohibited.  I can really remember about the one in Guanacaste, I only stayed there once, about 10 years ago and I was there with two ticas that I met in SJ, not to mention Guanacaste is a horrible area for mongering. Tamarindo is mainly full of gringos/gringas, mainly college kids there to surf and families. It can be fun, but you need to bring your own chicas.

There are also two Courtyard Marriotts and a Residence Inn, none of them are particularly restrictive about bringing chicas to the room, but they will charge you a chica fee.

and please feel free to email me, my email addy has been the same for well over ten years.

The allegedly hobby-unfriendly hotels in SJ were the Gran de Oro, El Presidente, Balmoral and a few others I'm forgetting. The Tica who initially brought this up was well-dressed and well-mannered and wouldn't have drawn much attention at a hobby-friendly venue.

I sent an e-mail to what I think is your address. My username is unchanged, but I'm at ProtonMail now.

and between my inbox and my outbox I must have at least 30,000 PMs, with no way to do a search I would have to scroll back hundreds of pages of PM's to find the ones to and from you.

My email shouldn't be too hard to find though, especially since I have been outed several times over the last 15 years or so.

Either way, I should re-up here (while crossing my fingers and hoping that FOSTA is struck down).

Was in Jaco last year and it is supermarket, something for everyone.

That's the Jaco I remember. There were natural hotties, silicone dolls and spinners milling about at dinnertime, and the place was packed with them by the time I finished eating.

I was in Jaco earlier this year and recently returned from a trip to Colombia (Medellin and Bogota). Here are my thoughts.

Jaco is a good place for a more general, multi-purpose vacation that involves both hookers and more mainstream vacation activities. The Colombian cities of Medellin and (to a lesser degree) Bogota are more appropriate for dedicated mongering trips, whereas Cartagena is better for a more well-rounded vacation. The trade-off is that Jaco has higher prices and lower quality talent and service than Colombia and thus yields less value for the money.

The Cocal has what I would consider some of the hottest girls in the Western Hemisphere other than Colombians (although there are still a few there), Venezuelans, and Brazilians. Prices are high by Latin American standards, between $100 and $150 USD. You might pay $100 for a 7 who does CBJ only, but $150 for 8s and 9s that do BBBJ. My main gripe was with their often business-like attitudes and the quality of the service. BBBJ and GFE may be harder to find, and many girls bolt immediately after you bust a nut. The chief selling point of Jaco, in my view, is that it is one of the few places that has both a decent mongering scene and good outdoor activities, such as fishing, surfing, and two nearby national parks. At these prices and from a purely mongering perspective, one would be better off in Brazil, which has higher quality talent and significantly higher standards of service. But if you want to go fishing or see sloths in a national park during the day and fuck hot Latinas at night, Jaco is the place.

In contrast, Medellin offers significantly better and more consistently good talent and service at much lower prices and thus yields significantly better value for the money. The best/default option for many/most gringos is to rent an apartment in a hooker-friendly building (you definitely need to clarify that before booking) and arrange outcalls with Facebook escorts. The typical rate is 150,000-200,000 pesos (about $50-65 USD) for 1-2 hours of GFE and BBBJ with 8s and 9s. The trade-off is that Medellin is, in my opinion, not that interesting from a more general vacation perspective, although there are a few things to do between sessions, and the cityscape is definitely easy on the eyes. Medellin is the default, go-to option for most gringos, and there are many good reasons for that strong preference.

Bogota is a different story and stands in sharp contrast to the more consistently moderate quality and pricing of Medellin. Mongering there is either dirt cheap in the Santa Fe red light district or quite expensive (by Latin American standards) in the high-end clubs of the far north. I spent most of my time in Santa Fe, which is reportedly dangerous, but I had no security problems there. Quickies of 15-20 minutes there cost about 60,000 COP (about $20 USD), give or take, although there may be a surcharge for BBBJ if you can find a girl that is open to it (a slight majority of them are not). The trade-off is that the quality of the service varies significantly, from fantastic to terrible, but I could live with that inconsistency at such low prices. This is the kind of place where you go scrounging for diamonds in the rough. I found the high-end clubs in the far north to be a waste of time and money, as the girls were not noticeably hotter than the ones in Santa Fe, except for one club that stank of cigarette smoke, where the only girls that appealed to me physically had business-like attitudes that turned me off. I did not get any more of a GFE vibe there than I did in Santa Fe, and there were even fewer girls open to BBBJ. There is also an expectation that you buy ridiculously overpriced drinks for yourself and the girl for the prilevege of "interviewing" her, which could end up costing as much as an actual session in Santa Fe. The only advantages of the high-end clubs in the far north, in my opinion, are the longer time increments and the more comfortable facilities (except for the one that smelled like cigarettes). The other selling point of Bogota is that it was more interesting to me from a mainstream tourism perspective, with about four days worth of sightseeing, such as museums and historic buildings, if such things are of any interest to you.

I've never used Facebook for finding escorts. Is there a 'find way-more-than-friends' option now? Do tell :)

The plan right now is to fly from San Jose to Bogota and then fly to Medellin at some point. There's enough normal sightseeing to do in CR that it's no loss if the Colombian leg of the trip is hobby-centric.

I really can't believe that you consider Bogota as a place with nothing else to do but see hookers. That's like claiming NYC has nothing to do as the cities are very similar in size.  I will concede that Medellin has kind of a "small town" vibe to it despite having a population (including the metro area) as large as all of Costa Rica combined.

While I still wouldn't recommend venturing off into the Colombian jungles like you can do in Costa Rica, there is still plenty to do there and Colombia's major beach cities of Cartagena, Barranquilla, and Santa Marta are all at least ten times bigger than any beach town in Costa Rica. That said, I would skip Barranquilla, IMHO it's kind of a shit hole. Picture a South American version of Long Beach or San Pedro.

The only online tool I've used for contacting chicas is an SD/SB site, and that's actually what made Medellin stand out in the first place. I was searching in Latin America out of curiosity, and I kept finding interesting profiles in Bogota, Medellin and to a lesser extent Cali (which seemed to have quality but less quantity). Caracas would also be on my list if it weren't for the problems discussed above.

That site has a mix of escorts, 'holiday companions,' traditional mistresses and marriage-minded women who will sometimes pretend to be interested in hookups if they think it will grab your attention. I've also had a couple of women ask me to wire them money before meeting, which obviously wasn't going to happen. One woman in Medellin said that she offers multi-day companionship at $75-100/day. She wasn't a pro and had only had a few arrangements, and I would rate her a 7. The others didn't mention prices, and I wasn't in a hurry to set terms unitl I've seen them in the flesh.

I had roughly the same experience that you had in Jaco, albiet a few years earlier. There were some very professional escorts who were strictly business, and the casual local ladies were a little bit more guarded than I would prefer. (That might have as much to do with Ticos as it does with mongers, since the Ticas I've known outside of the hobby often complain about their dating options in CR.) The one I remember in particular was decently friendly and did very good deep throat, so I didn't mind too much.

What GaGa says is mostly correct.  The place to go in Panama City is Club Habana but don't bother going there until after 10 pm.  I agree the Veneto sucks -- both the rooms and the chicas -- but I wouldn't go all the way to the Trump, as it's a long cab ride from there to Habana.  A better place is a small hotel called the Toscana.  It's down the street from the Veneto and a short walk to Habana.  Cost for a nice room is about $75 a night.
As for Jaco, while it's true the Cocal had to shut off night access to the beach after someone was shot there, the town itself is pretty safe, at least the central part of it.  But I would not walk very far at night from the center of town.  Besides,  a cab anywhere is barely more than a buck, US.  The Cocal is not quite as great as it used to be but is still by far the best place in the country.

I have been venturing to Central America because of work for a long time.
Guatemala and El Salvador are alway a miss. Do not get me started on Honduras. I should note that some years ago I landed a gorgeous Salvadoran (gorgeous!) at the hotel bar of the Camino Real. She was not only good looking but horny as a devil and one of my most memorable experiences punting.
Nicaragua is a shit hole. I agree. But the girls are not that bad. If you can stand a day or two in Managua, hook up with a nice girl and go to Leon or make your way south to the border with Costa Rica for San Juan del Sur. Nicaraguans are not really pretty but horny as devils and will be up to anything if you splurge on the trip. Also, price wise this is the most convenient but safety is an issue as they pretty much have a revolution going on.
Costa Rica was all about Del Rey but suddenly Jaco sprung into action and it has been all about Jaco ever since. The action in Jaco is pretty predictable as recently as this summer. I know you like Cocal but I am more of a Beatle Bar scene. I have stayed at the Copacabana and have established a friendship with the owner, a nice American expat who was almost cleaned out by the crisis back in 2008. I stayed at the Sheraton close to the Inter and they had no problem with providers showing up and getting up to my room. I used a website that apparently no longer exists and the girls were a score or miss. Also, Costa Rica is extremely espensive not only for hobbying (they ask for $300 but you can always negotiate downwards) but also for food and lodging. I believe it is time to move from CR.
Panama is pretty much the same thing.
The punter was referring to the Marriott in Panama City which is harder to get a provider in than passing through US Immigration. I like to stay at the Global Hotel (used to have another name) or the Hard Rock if you want to be exactly in the midst. There are a couple of bars close by that have full and part time providers (mostly Colombians and Venezuelans) and the scene is just fun you can negotiate good deals here. If all else fails I like Le Palace, the selection is always top tier and the prices are comparable to the US at $300. Still, I feel that Panama is very expensive for punting specially if you compare it to Colombia.
Colombia is quite possibly the holy grail of punting. I like Cali the best because it is the coast and everything is easy. There is a place called Tangas and also 20. Both have a good selection and offer in house service. Medellin girls are by far the most beautiful in all of the region. In Medellin I usually call out the girls to my hotel but I have been to Luna Lunera and Barra Ejecutiva. Both a lot of fun but I would say that I did not feel entirely safe at neither of them. Finally there is Bogota. Way to expensive. I used to visit La Mansion and found model caliber material but it closed and I have visited Hot Roses and Class Models. My best story was at Andres Carne de Res (a must if you go to Bogota but it only opens on weekends). I made my way alone and went back with three very horny and drunk colombianitas who made a point of giving me a heart attack. It was wild. I have been back but never that lucky. I use several services, prostitution is legal so they are all over the net. Pricing is in the low end all over Colombia. Between $100 in Cali to $200 in Bogota.
Venezuela is a zoo. I went there about four years ago and stayed at the JW. I had an appointment at our lawyers in Caracas which was barely four blocks from where I was staying. The hotel security would not allow me to walk to their offices and insisted on using their transportation. That night I had called someone to visit me at the hotel and again, the hotel security advised it was both unsafe and unwise. I was left looking at the walls and cursing Madero.
I am heading to Mexico City this November and looking for suggestions.

Also, Costa Rica is extremely espensive ... for food and lodging.
I can second that. The going rate for a cup of coffee at local restaurants seems to be about 1,000 CRC ($1.60), and I've often paid as much for dinner here as I would at home. (I'm not counting the restaurant that tried to give me a 'Gringo menu' with the prices doubled, since I didn't put up with that.)

Lodging is pretty cheap if you don't expect to be near the Del Rey or the Cocal, but comparable to US hotels if you do. I've seen "aparthotels" in CR that charge ~$60 for a studio with a kitchen and a small living room, and you can rent an entire house in some places for $40/night. Traffic in SJ, Heredia and Alajuela is awful, but Jaco is small enough that you can get back to your hotel in a resoanble amount of time even when the roads are jammed (which they are more often then not).

"I use several services, prostitution is legal so they are all over the net."

Are there any specific agencies or ladies that you would recommend?

There seems to be general consensus that Medellin girls are the most beautiful. Why do you think?

The only thing I know about Colombia is what I've seen in movies and that mostly involves machine guns and hand grenades. Is it generally safe to just hang out in Medellin??

GaGambler142 reads

but in this case it certainly is. lol

Pretty much anywhere you go in Latin America the hottest women are going to be Colombianas, and pretty much the hottest Colombianas are Paisas.

and yes, as long as you exercise a little common sense Medellin is a safe place to hang out. Obviously, like any other city, there are "barrios" to stay clear of, but if you stick to places like the Parque Lleras and the Poblado area, you should be just fine, but just like in Rio you do NOT want to go "up the hill", Well let me rephrase that, you do want to go "up the hill" near where Pablo Escobar's grave is located, the city's very best whorehouse by the name of "Loutron" is less than a kilometre away, but you don't want to go "up the hill" at the other end of the valley where the worst slums are located.

I've been traveling to Colombia for over a decade and every year it seems to get a little safer, it's come a long ways since they not only had bomb sniffing dogs at the airport, but at almost every hotel as well. That can be a bit disconcerting when you go to check into your hotel and the first thing they do is check you for bombs, but those days are well in the past and Colombia has a very healthy tourist trade today, not to mention some of the hottest babes on the planet.

One word of caution I would like to leave you with however. Medellin, while much safer than it was in years past is still not a place I would recommend for a first time traveler to Latin America, especially if you don't speak Spanish, I would suggest for any inexperienced travelers to start with "Latin America light" first, someplace like Costa Rica or Panama are good places for newbies to get their feet (and their dicks) wet before graduating to going someplace like Colombia where English is not as widely spoken, and gringos are not as common a sight.

As I'm illiterate in South American travels....I have to ask. What about Bolivia? I've seen some absolutely stunning women from that country....but they have been imported here to the States. Just wondering what the climate is like on their home turf...

Gotcha. If you had to recommend Costa Rica vs Panama, is it safe to assume you'd recommend CR? I gather from what I read that the ladies are significantly hotter - true? Thanks.

GaGambler144 reads

That said, let me repeat that the hottest women in virtually every country in Latin America are imported from Colombia. In Costa Rica you can expect a mix of Ticas, Nicas, Dominicanas and Colombianas. In Panama you get a mix mainly of Colombianas and Venezolanas, thanks mainly to the utter destruction of the economy in Venezuela. You also get a handful of Panamenas, and I will agree that the local Ticas in CR are significantly hotter than the local Panamenas in Panama.

All in all where it comes to P4P, the chicas in Panama are every bit as hot as the ones in Costa Rica, it's just that almost all of them are imported in Panama whereas there are a LOT more local hotties in CR. One thing I'd like to point out between the imports and the local chicas is that the imports tend to be a lot more mercenary and are in the country to work and not necessarily to have a good time. A lot of Ticas know that if they can land a rich gringo as a novio/espouso they can "retire" for as long as it lasts, if you are the type who likes extended dates, the locals are almost always more fun, and the local in CR are a LOT hotter than the locals in Panama.

One last thing about imports vs locals, in CR the Colombianas and Dominicanas rarely have any long term plans of moving to CR permanently, I know a few who have, but by and large they are only in CR to work and make enough money to buy a house or start a business back home, similar to the K-Girls here in the States, the same can be said for the Venezolanas and Colombianas in Panama. This does not hold true for the Nicas in CR however, Nicaragua is such a shithole (apologies to Donald Trump. lol) that most of the Nicas in CR have ZERO desire to ever go home. Unfortunately I find the Nicas in general to be among the least attractive chicas in the region along with the Panamenas, of course I did say "in general" I have met some VERY attractive Nicas, but "in general" the Colombianas, Venezolanas and Ticas are MUCH more attractive IMHO.

Fuck, man, this sounds pretty good. I looked on Kayak and R/T from L.A. to San Jose airport in CR is about $700 on Delta. You really sound like you've got the local scene clocked.

I assume that I wouldn't need great Spanish to spend a week at the Cocal?

GaGambler154 reads

I know one dumb gringo who spent a month once in Jaco who tried to pass his very bad Italian off as Spanish, and even he managed to get by and have a great time, plus he's a stumbling drunk.

BTW, that dumb gringo was none other than our very own Jakefromstatefarm, and he still doesn't speak more than a few words of Spanish, but that hasn't stopped him in the slightest. lol You will find that some of the chicas don't speak English, but most do and you can always find someone to translate for you if you find yourself with a non English speaking chica. As far as bartenders, waitresses, cab drivers et al are concerned, you won't have any problems at all even if you don't speak a word of Spanish, but obviously the more Spanish you speak the better, it's just not a requirement in any areas with a lot of tourists. If you go up to Tamarindo which is mainly full of American college kids and families (not a mongering destination) you will hardly hear any Spanish being spoken.

Lastly, we are just now ending the rainy season and the high season is about to start, rates are going to increase, but your chances of having an entire week of rain putting a damper on your trip go way down as well. It really is a beautiful time to be there.

GaGa, you have no take on Bolivia? Is that a no fly zone in South America?

GaGambler148 reads

Unless of course cheap prices are a top priority for you.

That is really about the only draw to Bolivia, it's a VERY poor landlocked country without most of the finer things in life, I really have no desire to visit $10 brothels to see women who have no light in their eyes. The women in these kind of places aren't there against their will, but they suffer from abject poverty and will hardly give you a GFE experience, not to mention Bolivian women aren't exactly known for their great looks, especially not when compared to the Colombianas, Venezolanas, or Brazilenas,

In my opinion if you want a similar (but better) experience you might try Ecuador, Quito is like a more upscale La Paz, very high up in the Andes, very low prices, but with some quality places (and chicas) to enjoy. I have actually been in a couple of casas in Quito where the going rate was $7 US, including the house fee, and NO I did not partake, I went to the "upscale" places where they charged $15 lol. Actually there are some casas in Quito that could actually be called upscale, with some very hot women where they only charge around $25. You can actually buy a bottle of booze, (decent booze like Johnny Black) spend the entire evening in one of these places, fuck three or four different chicas if you like and barely spend more than a hundred bucks or so.

Another advantage of Ecuador, besides it's proximity to Cali Colombia which is where most of the top talent in Ecuador comes from, is that if you get tired of the mountains, you can always hop a 45 minute flight down to the beach in Guayaquil or Manta

Interesting to hear that. As I said, I've not yet ventured to South America, but I've met several girls who were from Santa Cruz in Bolivia....and they were very beautiful. Given your consensus, I guess I was getting the exception, rather than the norm. Too bad....

GaGambler128 reads

Please keep in mind I have never been to Santa Cruz Bolivia, so you may have stumbled upon a hidden gem. It does look like the demographics of Santa Cruz are much better than anywhere else in Bolivia, typically when I think Bolivia I think La Paz and I really can't imagine making a special trip to La Paz just to go whoring, not with so many much better places in the region.

Like I said I don't have any first hand experience with Santa Cruz, but I see it's close to Paraguay and even though Paraguay is also a land locked, very poor country, when I was in Argentina I saw quite a few girls from Paraguay and they were quite beautiful. I do remember traveling to Santa Marta Colombia which was completely off my radar many years back simply because I met a chica in Panama from there who raved about the place and how beautiful and how cheap it was. Her advice was spot on and I had a wonderful time. Perhaps Santa Cruz could be the same. I am not such a "know it all" that I can't learn something new.

That said, my advice would still be to NOT make Santa Cruz Bolivia your first trip to Latin America, especially if you don't speak much Spanish, I would still advise trying out "Latin American lite" in the form of either Panama or Costa Rica first to kind of ease into the world of "sex tourism" lol  Most of Latin America is still kind of old school where it comes to mongering, with most meetings done in person and not over the internet and where a good driver can be invaluable. The problem is, the deeper into South America you go the less likely you are to find a good driver who speaks English, and the more difficult it will be for a "gringo" to avoid the rip offs and find the good places. Almost all cab drivers world wide get paid "bounties" to bring customers to the rip off places, the less you are able to communicate with your driver the more likely he is to bring you to a rip off joint.

I was in Colombia last year and had a blast. Bogeys was fine, Cartagena was fine, as was Cucuta.
