Do you want to clone (make an EXACT copy) of Mac1 on Mac2? Or do you just want to copy / transfer files from Mac1 to Mac2? Documents (Word docs, Excel docs, ..), Photos, Music ... but NOT Apps (MS Office, Chrome, Safari, ...).

One way to transfer data is to create a Google Drive or OneDrive or DropBox ("cloud storage") and sync everything you want to transfer from Mac1 to your cloud storage. Then login to Mac2 and sync Mac2 to your cloud storage. Easy peasy.

-- copy "up" to cloud
Cloud[word.doc, photo.jpg]
-- copy "down" to Mac2
Mac1[word.doc, photo.jpg] Cloud[word.doc, photo.jpg] Mac2[word.doc, photo.jpg]
You now have 3 copies of each file: original on Mac1, copy in the cloud, copy on Mac2.
