Circumcision

Dear HJC,

I don't personally know anyone who has had it done as an adult, so I can't even speak from (second hand) experience.  But I have met a few men in my time who could definitely benefit from adult circumcision. I'm not talking about just anyone with an intact foreskin, there are actual health/sanitary issues in a few cases.  I'm sure you have good reasons for considering this procedure.

Men are VERY sensitive about the whole idea. You will undoubtedly get a lot of fear-based responses here. I hope you get some actual personal stories of experiences.

Best of luck, find a good surgeon.

I am seriously thinking of getting myself "cut" for various reasons. Has anyone on these here boards gotten circumcised in their adulthood? How was the procedure and healing period? Did it improve/degrade your sex life? Did your SO or providers like it better?

and let's just say, it wasn't painful, it was F*ckin painful.

in his late 20s.  He needed to have it done for medicall reasons.  I think it also affected him psychologically, and thereby affected his confidence, sexually speaking.

I can't imaging anyone wanting to do it just for cosmetic reasons.  The prevailing current seems to be shifting away from this practice, in any case.

I had it done shortly after I was born and I lost 4 pounds, and at 3 days old that is serious.

Thank you

I have found Circumcised cocks.   Let's face the facts.....Circumcised cocks look better, feel better, and have less heath issues.  I'm VERY happy that I was Circumcised when I was born and If I ever had a son he would be for sure.  I think Every women I have been with (SO of course has told me that they hated seeing and fucking a guy that was NOT circumcised).  Just my experience.  Of course the ladies on this board are nothing going to say what they really feel because you are a potential client.  I think we loose sight of that on these boards....it's bad business for them to talk bad one way or the other....that's why I ask real questions that they want to answer

In fact, no national or international medical association recommends routine circumcision. If it was not forced on me as an infant there is no way I would be circumcised. Fact is most guys who get circumcised later in life claim sex feels worse to be circumcised than before.

The only health benefit proven in is preventing phimosis, frenulum breve and possibly the very slight reduction in rates the of spread of HIV. Phimosis is normal until puberty and can easily fixed without surgery in most cases and frenulum breve is rare and can be fixed with a much less invasive measures then removing one of the most sensitive.

The risks of circumcision is greater than remaining intact for most males. A quick list of issues with circumcision is reduced sensitivity for life, infection of the exposed area, surgical accidents, urinary retention, skin-bridges, meatal complications, post-circumcision phimosis, keloids, necrosis, increased risk for ED and many other issues. Most of these require surgery to fix and some are very permanent.

This link will Explain the many risks of circumcision:

Fact is the only reasons for circumcision are cultural, cosmetic and religious in nature for most males. For the most part woman prefer the cultural norm as far as circumcised vs. uncircumcised cock. You are correct that in this country the social norm is circumcised.

So lets really face facts uncircumcised cocks feel better, and have less heath issues. Looks are in the eyes beholder. Please do not speak of what you do not know. As I have stated, not one national or international medical association recommends routine circumcision. The reason for this is simple, for most males there just is not any heath benefit to circumcision and a great many risks. Why do some doctors recommend it? Two reasons, it is the cultural norm and money. It is also that simple.

Feel free to post any information contradicts what I have said.

I wasn't in this hobby back then. I don't recall any of the civvies I dated ever complained about my covered helmet, but I just decided to get mine circumcised so I would look 'normal' like most guys. It really wasn't too bad; I had local anesthesia and the pain was very manageable. It took me about a month to fully recover so I could engage in sexual activities again.

I noticed I became a little less sensitive, i.e., it took me somewhat longer to come after I had my foreskin removed. But just a little longer. I didn't have an SO at the time, but I imagine most women like 'cut' penis.

As long as a guy keeps the area clean under the skin, all is good with me.

Years ago I dated a civvie guy who was uncut and thought just letting water from the shower run down him was enough to be clean.  It wasn't.  Nothing kills the mood faster than discovering  you have a case of dick cheese just waiting to be discovered by a lucky lady.  (we broke up right after that).

So guys, just be sure to keep it clean under there.

See....I was right.  Again the women on these boards are going to say they don't care.....however, in the civie world they DO!!!!   It's a fact

It is becoming more common that men circumcised as babies are having a plastic surgical reconstruction of a foreskin.  The post above may explain why.  As long as you can maintain hygiene and retraction, you may want to reconsider.
I also have seen the immediate post-op results of adult circumcision.  Many surgeries result in uncomfortable recoveries.  This is no different.

His home life was poor & her went years without sex or apparently an erection.  The situation became such that he could no longer stretch the foreskin to clean & it required circumcision.  He was not a happy camper.

Circumcision definitely degrades sensation.

You know why cut men had to use lube or like BBBJ so much? That's because they're missing a foreskin. There are miles of nerves at the tip; you'll be just cutting away all your pleasure. You should look up circumcision on the Internet. There are men who are trying restore their foreskin by grafting.

BTW, without multiple aliases, I wasn't going to post much anymore. But I wanted to stop you before it's too late.

In favor:
I kind of needed it as it was a bit too tight and doctors had suggested it in the past.
It was a pain to keep clean and even just hours after washing it could smell a bit again.
Frequent washing (my case) can predispose to excess moisture when "covered" and increased chance of fungal infections. because of it.
Also circumcised males have lower risk of contracting some viral std's.
Looks: definitely looks nicer cut

Against:
Pain: really  is not a problem, annoying for a few days but that's all.
Loss of sensation:  happens.  I got used to it though. BB with SO is not an issue and actually enjoy it more because I'm not self-conscious about hygiene. With condoms it was a problem initially; I would need provider to finish me by hand. I don't know why but it's no longer the case. But I miss a bit how sensitive it was before and hope that it does not become a problem as I age. Also miss not needing lube to masturbate.

Bottom line: I would not do it for looks. The loss of sensation can be a big deal. I've read that for some people it's worse than what I've noticed on me. Do it only if you really need it.

When erect, women can't tell the difference.

Plus the head is sensitive and I can enjoy the act more.

What is the point of going through all that trouble just to make yourself worse in terms of sensation? ;)

Had to be circumcised for medical/health reasons. Was about 55 at the time. Procedure was extremely painful. The degree of soreness made considering having sex unthinkable for at least three months. Took total of six months before water hitting penis when taking a shower did not feel tingling sensation. In my case, erections became more firmer and the ability to maintain an erection significantly increased. The increased stamia definitely improved the quality  of sexual encounters.
