The subject of a man having a concealed weapon (read gun) on a first meeting with a lady came up on an other board. What is the take on this if one ads in that this is not discussed in advance? What do people think of the appropriatness of this type behavior within the hobby?

It was more like a guy had a gun on the counter when I walked in- Scared the bejeebers out of me-and I am a country girl- I packed a concealed weapon for 4 years! I shot my first gun at 5. I am only afriad of them if they are in someone elses possession.

I made a huge point to stay between him and the gun the whole time, but not to mention it in case he forgot it was there- LOL turns out he was a really nice guy, he was in the process of moving from some little hick town into the big city and had it for protection.

I would advise it is a no no though. If you have them have them put away. Now showing up to a ladies place is a grounds for getting booted in my book. It is almost like bringing drugs. Leave them in the car or at home!

I know of a very popular provider who carried a .38 on every appointment she went on.

I know that there are very serious safety concerns here, but this girl was just plain paranoid.
You just never know.

Just my opinion...

As a gun owner myself, common sense would be to leave it home for the first date so as not to make the lady uncomfortable especially if it was never discussed prior to the session.  But then when does common sense seem to matter sometimes in life? LMAO   I went to a strip club up in New York City once and had my holstered gun stuck into the middle of my back.  When I was getting lap dance, the young lady accidentally brushed against it.  She literally ran away from me and started telling the other ladies that I was LE.  Lucky for me there were other ladies who had known me for awhile who could vouch that I wasn't.  But I could never get that lady to give me a lapdance again no matter how much money I offered her LMAO.  So first impressions are important.

First off, I just want to say that I fully understand a providers need to maintain her own safety and security.  So I would understand a provider feeling nervous in this situation.

Now to be nitpicky: if the gun is in plain sight, then it isn't a concealed weapon.  It may be just as unsettling, but call it a weapon or just a gun.  I am an outdoorsman and own a few guns.  I get upset when the media always refers to "asault rifles" just based on how a gun looks, so I like to be accurate in this subject area.  But I digress

In my state of residence, it is possible to get a legal CCW (Carry Concealed Weapon) permit.  So a person may be carrying a gun legally (and still make a provider nervous, granted).

I personally would not go to see a provider if I thought the area was so dangerous that I needed to carry a gun. I do not have a CCW and I do not carry a gun for protection.

I would totally understand a provider not wanting to see an armed client, and maybe this is another screening question that needs to be asked/answered in advance?  I would agree that a provider who discovers a client is armed has the right to terminate the session at that point and leave. Incall, the provider has more control. Outcall, the territorial control is less defined.  But who would have the guts to get into an argument over payment with someone you know to be armed?  If she decides to leave early, he is probably going to want his money back.

And I have to ask, would the situation/response be different if the weapon were a knife, or mace, or Taser, or????

Maybe I should be asking providers in this state if they are armed, for my own protection

A complicated subject, for sure

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

  I'm aware this is not the "Political board";
but you asked and that's how I feel. I carry when ever I choose to do so. Screw Diane Feinstein, Charles Schumer, Hilary Clinton and all the elitist scum They're recreant to the Constitution and should be indicted for TREASON!

Any more questions as too where I stand?

BTW- No I do not possess a “Concealed carry permit” issued by a subordinate magistrate. “ARTICLE II” Is the supreme law of the land. As simple as that language is; I don’t need it defined by subordinate bureaucrat Pee-On OR a permit from the same.

I have been to an incall in the a lady's home and was not surprised to see the 9mm in her drawer when she reached for the condoms. I have also driven to areas that once I got there, I cancelled because I wasn't packing and should have been at least in those circumstances. If people understand and know the proper use of a firearm, they are the safest people to be around when trouble breaks out. Should she brandish it before your appt? I think not

Vermont is the only state where it is legal without a permit. If you get stoped and searched you will probably be charged with a Felony which will cost a bundle for defence. Conviction will result in a ban on ownership or possession for life.  Be careful!!!  37 states now have "Shall Issue" laws on the books. Many of these recognise each others permits on a reciprocal basis. Everybody should support "National Right to Carry " laws as every place where it has been passed has seen a drop in violent crime. Just my $.02.

Please join a well regulated militia.  I hear they are hiring right now.

As for me, the fewer guns floating around in peoples night stands, the better.

Permit or not, I would NEVER consider carrying a weapon while doing ANYTHING I knew was illegal, and that includes hobbying. It's just asking for [extra] trouble IMHO.

Besides, I've found carrying to be pretty impractical anyway. Sure, it's easy to carry in a purse, but I'm not so confident in my masculinity that I wouldn't feel just a wee bit "odd" carrying a purse.

And yes, I consider a "fanny pack" a man-purse.

a militia is NOT welcome or needed in my incall.
If a client showed up with one, he's gone.

The question was not about the right to bear arms, it was about a gent bringing a concealed weapon to an appointment.  WAY out of line.

The number of concealed carry permit holders is growing by huge numbers every month, & I'm glad to see it. I'm a very strong 2nd Amendment advocate. But the issue of the question is about appropiratness, & I'm not an advocate of concealed carry, on my person, while hobbying, although I will be carrying legally in my vehicle. I don't even carry my wallet when I visit a provider, no matter how well I know her. Now, as an aside, I've had the pleasure & privilege to give shooting lessons to 2 different providers I've known over the years. I've lost track of one, but the other has become quite an avid shotgunner & can hold her own against anyone on the skeet field.

Political board question rather it was to be

Keep in mind this is if not discussed and agread upon in advance.

1. Is it appropriate to carry a concealed weapon when meeting a lady for the first time (not necessarily in the hobby)?

2. What about in the hobby specificly?

Carrying a weapon on a date is bad form. Now if you are at your place of residence that's very different. The same for a hobbyist. Now if you are going to a guy's house and you feel that you have to conceal a weapon, then I suspect your screening needs some refinement. A hobbyist loaded for bear or on drugs can't be a good thing. The attached video will demonstrate how easy it is to conceal a weapon(s).

I would never consider bringing a weapon to your incall, but if you come to my hotel room you can count on there being _at least_ one in the room (out of sight).

or police detective, chief, officer, Judge, District Attorney, private security, body guard, Senator Diane Feinstein(she like many high ranking elected officials has a concealed carry permit) etc etc. There IS a responsibility to keep a fire arm secure, and as often as automobiles are broken into or stolen.......

Granted; there is seldom a need for a side arm at a tryst, but then again what if the provider is a ROB with an accomplice?

Granted, but that is the case with or without a gun in the picture.  If a client is the kind of person who is going to hurt a lady he is going to do it.  I would even go as far as to suggest that the kind of person that gets off on hurting ladies _prefers_ to do so without benefit of a gun, that kind of scum likes the feeling of power he gets by using his hands or a close contact weapon.
IMHO a weapon _in the room_ is not typically a problem for anyone.  But I'm NOT going to bring it up by asking if (this) makes her uncomfortable, at that point I'm certain that it would...
On that same vein, I'M getting uncomfortable with the direction that this discussion is going, I'm out.

"that is the case with or without a gun in the picture."
Yes indeed.  So WHY make a lady that much more nervous by wearing or displaying a weapon?  And if you are in HER space, it is complete disrespect to bring it and not ask permission.  Regardless of FreedomRiders response above, it is highly unlikely that your car will be broken into in the two hours or so that you are visiting a lady.  Not secure enough?  Leave it in a safe at home.

"I would even go as far as to suggest that the kind of person that gets off on hurting ladies _prefers_ to do so without benefit of a gun"
Some, some not.  There's many more robbers than psycho-mutilating killers.  Should I not be concerned about the one because of the other? Which do you think I'm more likely to come across in my life?

"IMHO a weapon _in the room_ is not typically a problem for anyone. "
Um... how does your opinion that it is not a problem translate to be that it is not typically a problem for anyone?  I'm saying loud and clear, for me, it IS a problem.  Wanna' poll the ladies?  I think we can find a few other exceptions to your humble opinion.

MY not so humble opinion.

Dang it, I thought I was going to drop this, I even know that I should, but...
Please re-read my post (titled Well...) yet again.
I very specifically stated that I would NEVER bring anything to your location.  Period.
I DO typically travel with a weapon, it WILL be in MY room.  but you would never know it, see it, or have any opportunity to suspect it is there.  That was my basis for stating that it wouldn't be a problem, because as far as you are concerned it doesn't exist.  Its presence has absolutely nothing to do with you or why you are there.
I will have to leave the psycology of men who harm women alone, as I am totally unqualified to make any definitive statements, and freely admit that the opinions stated above are unsupported conjecture.
My apologies for any offense, perhaps agreeing to disagree is best...

and none intended.

"I very specifically stated that I would NEVER bring anything to your location.  Period."
Most kind and considerate, I appreciate that.

"I DO typically travel with a weapon"
And I was simply pointing out is that is why some ladies will not outcall.  Weapons, cameras, other people... you never know what is in someone else's space.

Now - if it is YOUR space and the gun were securely hidden away not to be seen by a lady, you are right, there should be no problem.

So we do agree, a bit.
; )

Happy weekend to you, sir!

...while I'm NOT "anti-gun", I do believe you do have the right to insist no weapons be brought onto your premises.

Besides, "concealed" means just that. If the weapon is kept "concealed", it's a non-issue: you'll never know it was there. If it can't be kept concealed (for whatever reason), it shouldn't be brought along.

I don't feel the need to bring along my gun. I protect myself by eating three 7-Eleven burritos prior to any session. Under normal circumstances, it's perfectly safe, but if I get stressed, as I might if attacked, look out!
