Not sure if this belonged on the newbie board or here, and it's a little off topic.   I am starting an affair with someone and need to find a place to meet her, where we can hang out for a while.  Her house and mine are both off limits, so was thinking about a hotel.  For obvious reasons, don't want to use my credit card.  Is there another way to get a hotel room booked, so that it is more anonymous?  Looking at 3-5 stars.  Thanks in advance!

Most hotels ask for credit cards to hold the hotel room itself. You could pay cash when you get to the hotel instead of using your credit card.

You can do everything on a prepaid card. You can also book the room online with the prepaid. Just don't get American Express for online booking. Doesn't work.

Since you have to give a DL to check in, the pre-paid card is the way to go.  Have it mailed to your work address if possible.   Drop the money in there, book on line, and away you go.    

It's a very simple process. Pick up a card that says, "$25 - $500". Load it up, and away you go.

My ex was snooping in all my shit at the end, and I never cheated on her. I gave her a year and a half to clean all that shot up, but she never did (I never told her there was a time frame), I just got an apartment and left. So you know you can get a credit card in just your name right? And a PO box to have the statement mailed to. Personally, the cheating would be harder for me, so if I felt like I wanted to be with someone else, I'd just fucking leave, then you don't have to jump through hoops. Of course, I must point out that I don't have kids so it's a lot easier for me than it may be for you.

All hotels these days want to see ID.
But as far as the CC goes, you should be fine.

Make up a name for the second guy.
Arrive by cab.
Give your mistress that name to use when visiting.
Wait a few hours. Have dinner, talk to staff and let them get to know you by a nickname without showing ID.
Show up, pay cash, tell them Mr. X (your real name) can't make it.
Let it go down.
IF the staff or desk demand ID at some point, for some reason, insist that you gave them your name at the beginning and it was their mistake, so you went along with it. The nickname cushions this. Game's up, but you smell good.
Try to have the mistress keep a low profile. She's more likely to blow it than you. Then again, I'm just guessing.
Fortunately, you're not breaking any laws or scamming the hotel, so...
By the way, good hotels are discreet.
Oh, yeah, have your mistress arrive be cab, too.
