For hobbying, I've been using my normal email which I've had for ages.  Since the SESTA/FOSTA bills, I've decided to play it safe too, including getting a new protonmail encrypted email which I will be using mainly for hobbying.

My question for providers:
Would you like returning clients to notify you ahead of time that their email address has changed, and send the new email from their old email address?

The reason I ask is that if a Provider sees an email from a hobbyist from a different email address from the usual one, if that raises a potential red flag.  There are a few providers I would like to see again although it may take me a few months to get to it, so I was considering sending a pre-emptive email notifying of the email change, so when it does time to book, there isn't much concern for the provider.  I'm sure there are other hobbyist wondering too.

Thanks

If they aren't using protonmail too....its a waste of time. Need to have encryption on both ends for it to be secure.

I believe you don’t need to have protonmail on both ends to send encrypted messages. I have protonmail and hushmail and both support encryption from other email systems

I notified my regulars that I had switched emails (to protonmail).  They seemed to appreciate the notice, also some of them told me they would soon make that switch or were at the least contemplating doing so.

I would prefer a simple email, text, or phone call that says Hi. I am changing emails and want to give you the heads up. Here is my new email address so we can stay in touch. I prefer an email from the old address. Simple and easy to know who you are.

I've been telling all of my clients to tell me if anything changes for them. I've recently switched to ProtonMail so getting emails from old friends letting me know what's happening is helpful. We are scrambling around (well some of us) to readjust so by you guys doing this it would be a huge help.

Just let them know who you are and that you've changed your email.
