At least she sought immediate assistance

The more quickly assistance is sought, the more certain the conviction.

Sadly, far too many victims do not seek help quickly, which allows many miscreants to perpetrate even further crimes.

It is better, of course, never to be a victim. This includes avoiding intoxication in proximity to contact with unknown males, avoiding situations that present a high likelihood of attack, and being knowledgeable in rape prevention strategies and self-defense.

But a victim's failure to fully exercise these strategies in no way excuses the perpetrator. As I said, by her seeking assistance immediately she has greatly increased the likelihood of his conviction.

EAST BROOKFIELD —  A North Brookfield man was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bail yesterday, on charges he raped and knocked a prostitute unconscious at his apartment, then threatened her with a gun.

Marc David Recor, 45, of 15 Walnut St., North Brookfield, was arrested Wednesday after the woman told police he’d picked her up on Jackson Street in Worcester the night before. She told police her intent, when she got into his sport utility vehicle, was to “negotiate money for sex,” court documents show.

In a statement to police, the woman said she and Mr. Recor drove around Worcester smoking crack. They stopped at an apartment off Dorchester Street and smoked cocaine in the hallway, where Mr. Recor allegedly said he had forgotten his keys and could not get in. He then said they would go to an apartment in Spencer, she told police.

She said they stopped at a package store across the street from the Spencer Police Department to buy vodka.

Once they reached the apartment, which was in North Brookfield, Mr. Recor began pushing the woman around and demanded oral sex from her, then held her down and raped her on a bed underneath a sign that featured his name and the name of a woman, court documents show. She told police she was crying and asking him to stop when he again demanded oral sex and she ran for the door, which he slammed shut before punching her in the head, court documents show.

The woman said she smashed a lamp against Mr. Recor’s head and he knocked her out. When she awoke, he was laughing and told her to clean up, a police report said. He then brandished a handgun and told her she had better “play by his rules,” according to the report.

They then went back to Worcester, where he allegedly traded a computer for money and drugs, she told police. She got out of the vehicle and went to the PIP Shelter, where staff members called 911 and she was taken to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center — University Campus in Worcester for treatment.

When police went to the hospital, she had a cut above her lip, a swollen face and bloodied legs, Officer Adam J. Kachadoorian wrote. After spending four hours at the hospital, she was picked up by Officer Kachadoorian. He drove her back to North Brookfield, where she found the apartment and identified Mr. Recor from a photograph.

Police arrested Mr. Recor, charging him with aggravated rape, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping. At his arraignment yesterday in Western Worcester District Court, the judge noted Mr. Recor’s 19-page record and history of restraining orders and restraining order violations as part of the reason for the high bail.

Mr. Recor was also ordered to stay away from the woman, be monitored by GPS if he makes bail, remain free from drugs and alcohol and submit to random screenings. He is due back in court on Nov. 2 for a pretrial hearing.

I can't believe that the legal system would allow this man to go free after seeing he's had such a long history of violence and the condition he put this woman in.  Had it been any other woman, I doubt this man would have been allowed free.  This is why screening and having a bodyguard is so imperative!!

drugs put women in desperate situations...I hope the detective talked her into going to detox and rehab...regardless, I still feel bad for her :(

You betcha it's scary. In this instance it did not get as bad as it could have been. Stories like these reinforce the need for adequate screening, of course. It also reinforces the dangers of stray pickups.

.... and as ridiculously, monumentally STOOPID as she may have been, there is no justification on earth for her receiving the treatment she did.  Horrible!

are not your street ho working the corner of 8th and Vine.  The ladies we see from TER screen their visitors so scenerios like the above do not occur.

Regardless, this guy should be locked up and the key thrown away.  I hope the lady receives treatment for her adiction.

It saddens me to hear about stories like this. No one deserves what happened to her. If the guy they arrested is guilty, I hope they lock him up for a very long time and someone shows him what it is like to be forced. I hope this lady recovers from this trauma and uses it as a wake up call. I know of others who have had similar things happen to them who still struggle with it years after. This is a very sad story. I have no mercy for rapists. If I was in charge they would never see daylight again, but I am to close to some who were victims of rape to be objective. It is one of the reasons I say everyone needs to screen everyone in the hobby.

There is a place in Chile just perfect for this animal. It's a gold mine, I think, and very deep. Keep him alive by sending food down a 6-inch wide bore hole.

...I hope she recovers from this. What I wouldn't do to have 5 minutes alone with this guy.

Diverting slightly from the original topic, I've noticed that a high percentage of the ladies I've met drink during their appointments.  A few have confided that it's how they deal with fucking strangers for a living.  While that's sad in it's own right, it also adds to problems by taking away a degree of sharpness that could be critical given that she's in a room with a total stranger.  Screening is critical but even the best methods can be beaten by a guy determined to cause problems.  At the risk of manginafication, I wish that the ladies that hate what they do would find another career for their own sakes.

It isn't just booze that is used. Some use benzo tranquilizers; but the result is the same. In principle, if a woman has to drink in order to be able to fuck me, she shouldn't be fucking me. If I suspect that a woman is sufficiently intoxicated to adversely affect her judgment -- something that has happened to me once in hobbying but more than once in civie life -- I refuse sex outright. Sorry, but I'm hardcore that way. A woman has a right to choose what to do with her body, but no right to exercise her inebriated will upon mine.

I wish they'd get out of the business too, for their own sake. Because I know that too many men will just go ahead and fuck them, drunk or not, without any thought as to the consequences for the lady later. I know what those consequences can be, and they aren't pretty.

I dont feel sorry for either of them. Lets see....... should you really be doing hard drugs with someone you dont know anyway. If this junky cared anything about her safety, chances are she would have never gotten in the car with this guy who obviously needs his dick cut off anyway. Damn it man bitches give pussy away literally everywhere you go......Why is this shit even this serious......  She knew the risks of street walking like the rest of us.....And, well for the guy....Even if the trial doesnt go as planned....which hopefully this time it will according to his track record....He will get what his sorry ass deserves........

If so, than I am sooo fucking glad I am not the only one who isn't thinking "poor girl". Maybe something along the line of "poor little fucked up junkie", but I only have so much sympathy to go around, I don't think I'll waste any on someone who basically did this to herself.

I mean, come on, she was driving around smoking crack with this loser, did she really expect a fairy tale ending? lol

I think I'll save my sympathies for the people who are the victims of external forces beyond their control, rather than people who get hurt for making stupid choices.

True this lady was asking for trouble by doing drugs, doing drugs with a stranger, not screening, and being alone with a stranger. Yes a poor outcome is predictable if your choices are poor. But most anything is preventable like Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans got what they deserve living below sea level near the ocean i hurricane territory by the same logic. Earth quake victims on fault line choose there fate by being near a fault line using that same logic. They all placed themselves in a place that could turn dangerous and by your logic deserve what life dished out and deserve no sympathy. That logic is flawed and merciless.

Lets say someone drinks a lot , fucks strange women and don't screen those women well. Now lets say one of these ladies wanted to fuck him and not in a fun way and spiked his drink with Rohypnol thus incapacitating him. She then robs him, and then dumps him in the wilderness to die. Would you you say he deserves that? Alcohol is a powerful drug that reduces judgment, just like crack, and a stranger is a stranger no matter what side of the envelope they are on. So by your logic he deserved everything that happens to him even death.

Everyone alive that lives to the age of five makes choices that are not the wisest. Sometimes these choices have tragic consequence but often they do not. I have done stupid things in my life that should have ended up worse than they did. I would bet that everyone on this board has done stupid things that could have and perhaps should have ended much worse than the did. Hell, may would argue that participating in the hobby at all is one of those things. I can't really find a fault with there logic as it is against the law and has plenty of risk.

This lady did not ask to be raped and beaten. Yes, she did put herself in an very bad situation where it could happen, but that is not the same thing. If so we all ask to get every STD out there as we all know condoms are not 100% effective at preventing anything and we all see others that are sexually very active.

I don't limit my sympathy to those that are faultless in their fate. If I did that I would not have sympathy for anyone ever. That does not mean I go and try to save everyone from the consequences of their choices because I don't. It would not be to their benefit and in fact would likely be to their detriment if I did so. I do have empathy for their suffering and if they are making an honest effort to correct their lives and I am in a position to help, I try to. Sometimes it backfires on me, but I rarely regret it.

I believe that we for the most part we choose are fate, and all need some help to get ourself out of the mess we make for ourself. I know every time I have found myself in a world of hurt it was because of my choices. I also know that if others did not show me mercy a few of those times would have ended much worse than they did. I think this is true for most of us.
