Google will track you no mater what you do. I would get rid of it asap. I have used Trac Phone for years and believe it is untraceable to me. I periodically google my hobby phone number to see what comes up. Verizon bought Trac Phone about a year ago so I am not sure how that will affect things going forward. Once I heard about the sale to Verizon I bought several years of Trac Phone service in advance of the sale. Time will tell if Verizon screws up a great tool.

I have been using Google Voice for 2 years, since CoverMe went away. Would a disposable Trac Phone be safer than GV?  Is a prepaid Trac Phone a pain in the ass with SIM cards?  I realize I need to pay cash for Trac Phones….just looking for input.  I am willing to sacrifice convenience for safety and privacy….Thoughts?

Verizon shouldn’t screw it up. I have used prepaid Verizon for mine for over 5 years now and when you google / search my number none of my real world info comes up.

I have used it recently and I can still find it when I search for it.  What are yiu experiencing ?

At the time Apple iOS no longer supported it.

There's a way to make it work, per the Cover Me website.  I still use it on Android and prefer it to a burner, which I had used until I dicovered Cover Me about 5 years ago.k

You make it seems  like we're all doing something criminal or have something  to hide. The adult industry needs to respected . Get a track phone, better privacy than anything  google,

In several important ways, no.

Burner phone is a physical object that can be seen, raising suspicion or worse.
GV is a software object much easier to hide on one's regular phone.
GV tracks and records much more, and Google is highly motivated to "hook up" with everything else on your regular phone; burner phone can be well-isolated (even a different OS).

They will only respond to messages from physical devices. Yes, it's a pain, but it's their yard, their rules.
Best bet is to get a quality unlocked smartphone off of eBay, then get an annual pre-paid plan from an MVNO with good coverage in your area.

Trac phones are garbage, I've had cheap smartphones unable to get a signal, run out of battery, or crash at the worse possible times.

Tracfone does not make phones, so "Trac phones are garbage" makes no sense.  You can use a garbage phone with Tracfone service, or use a premium brand-name Samsung or Apple phone, or something in between.

I've had bad experiences with cheap smartphones too, but it was the phone hardware's fault, not Tracfone's fault.

I agree with "get an annual pre-paid plan from an MVNO with good coverage in your area", and Tracfone is an MVNO (and owns about a dozen of the other MVNOs you'll find).

I always keep my old phone when I get a new one. The older phone after two cycles becomes my hobby phone ( after removing the sims card and doing a hard reset ) .  The fact that sims cards are going away will probably change this for me.  I also bought a Samsung  Trac Phone at Walmart for cash and have used it with no issues. Battery life is not the best but for $100 its not a huge expense and could easily be trashed if needed.
