Have her request an Es-ring from her physician.  It is a ring that is inserted much like a diaphragm and slowly releases a small amount of estrogen.  It keeps the vagina and surrounding parts soft and lubricated.  My wife has used them for years.  without them, no sex, with them moderate sex.  I say moderate because at age 66 she is starting to lose interest.  As the Doc says, a small amount of testosterone is also very helpful with her desire.

My wife is going through menapause. Intercourse is out of the question because when I try to penetrate her, she says it burns her skin inside her vagina. This has been going on for about 3 yrs now and is becoming a real problem. We do all the alternatives, HJ, sometimes a BJ but she won't do CIM. A real turn off for me. We even have her mount me CG and she rubs her vagina along my penis which we both enjoy to climax. Still, not being able to penetrate her is a real downer. She has seen a gynocologyst who prescibed Vagifem for her but after 6 mos. there was no improvement. We use to have a very active sex life, lots of oral on both sides but she has pretty much lost interest in sex except on rare occassions. Typically, we now have sex about once every six weeks.
Yes I hobby and now more than ever, but would really like to have my sex life back with my wife. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

and suggest a different treatment. If you both do not get a satisfactory answer and treatment option, get a second, and even third opinion.

You may have done all of this already, but I'm often astounded by how many people try the first treatment a doctor recommends, and when it doesn't work, just give up!

Go get a second opinion or an alternative treatment from the pussy doc.

Did it also occur to you that she may not have an interest in even having sex anymore? Maybe she does not want the sex life back.

and yes, I am a real doctor.  My wife will be 58 in a couple days.  Through multiple plastic surgeries, she is quite stunning.  After reading some Susan Summers articles several years ago, she initiated the conversation I had wanted to have with her regarding low dose testosterone.  See if you can get your wife into it, either through gel or patches that can be Rx'd by her gyn.  These are expensive, and since I have access to injectables, my wife gets a 0.1cc injection (20mg) per week.  Side effects:  She works out more and is in very good shape.  Her labia are enfolding, and her clitoris is a thing to behold. (She hates it, but I call it "my bes fren."  And, she's horny and loves to be pounded!  (The Astrogel is still a good idea, though)  Keep the dose low to avoid facial hair growth.  If it occurs, you're going to need to spend money on laser ablation treatments to keep her happy.  Let me know if you want me to PM you on more specifics.

you are really a nice guy i figured you as an intellectual snob.

What?  Just because it drives me to distraction whenever someone substitutes "your" for "you're"??

If she's not allowing CIM, I have a sneaking suspicion that Greek might be off the table, as well.

Have you tried greek?

Make it more comfortable for her, and you'll be plugging her unit in no time! ;)

If either you or your wife feel that there is more going on than just a physiological issue, I would suggest seeing a marriage counselor.

Look up in the internet for bio-identical hormones therapy.
Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is the way to go and she will regain her sexual appetite and enjoy sex with you again.
During menopause, because a woman lacks hormones production, the vagina walls gets really thin, causing pain during intercourse.
I did start my treatment way when I got my pre menopause symptoms (for some women, they start on their mid 30s).
Gels, lubes etc are temporary remedies and will not give her a permanent solution.
Look at his website and contact them, ask if they can suggest a doctor in your area.
One bad thing = most insurance companies do not cover this kind of treatments so you will need to pay for it or find a doctor that can find a way to get her covered.
Good luck!

Most of this crap on the internet is overpriced snake-oil.  "Bio-Identical" is just a current catch-word.  There are hormones available that work.  Your doctor can prescribe and/or administer them.  It probably won't even cost any more and may be much less.  Furthermore, the pluses and minuses of estrogen replacement therapy are pretty well known at this point.  That also may be something worth exploring with her GYN.

I just suggested to 'look' online for a doctor in his area.
I've been on bio-identical for few years and I am a living proof that it works!
Hormones reverses aging and keep your sexual appetite alive.

It's hard to argue with either you or Susanne Summers.  Proof in the pudding, I guess.

Its important that the advice you take come from someone who has preferably examined your wife.  Doc
