Hotels by Day is another reliable site.

Here in the Boston area I sometimes get the room for my sessions for various reasons.

One time I could book a room using some on line price comparison site, and find a good room where I need it at a decent price.

Now, most motels have a 3 PM check-in time (though I'm starting to see 4 PM sometimes) but up to now, if they had a room available and you came by at say, 1 PM, it would not be a problem.

No more it seems.   A place wanted $50, about a 30% premium, for the room.   I managed to bargain that down to $25 by joining their special club, but still, I think this is a bad thing for us.   Not only that, but they asked if I needed to park overnight.   I obviously didn't, but had I needed that, another $30!    Mind you this isn't some busy downtown area but a place on the fringe of the city with a large open lot.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that motels will take a page from the airlines at nickel and dimeing, but it really frosts my donuts to see this happen.

That's it based on availability and its usually same day booking. They won't take reservations. And each Hotel is different. They could be in the same chain but some will offer it some won't. It all depends. You'll need to call if they offer day use. Check out is usually around 4 or 6pm. The rates are about less then half.

Dayuse is a day-use booking mobile app (and web service) that lists offerings of day-use rates and locations.  You do not need to phone each hotel.  Times of use vary; some hotels offer several, as 10-3, 12-5, 6-9 options some days in a facilty near me.  Most do not require payment/CC when you book, only when you arrive.

Hotels are standard $300 + a night. When able I will utilize the Dayuse app. You enter the location & many hotel options are available with different rates for different times. I love Dayuse!
