at recent dinner with a wealthy, mid 40s good looking las vegas based guy friend,    Has an active nonpro social life told me, "nobody uses condoms anymore"    wild .

irony is this guy could afford the top TER ladies here but gets it all for free with hot locals socially.   .. of course he does ! lol

just be careful out there and yet another reminder, don't think,  he / she only goes that way with me.

No one wants to admit they are making shitty life decisions so they then justify it with "everyone else is doing it!!" No, they are not. I was this way when I was a heavy drinker of alcohol. I always justified me drinking EVERY DAY with "everyone else is doing it!" No, that thought process is absurd and obviously false. Are there people that drink alcohol everyday? Of course, but it is a small percent of all of the people that drink alcohol, just like your buddy here who obviously does not want to be judged for his poor life decisions of not using condoms so he is going to justify it with "everyone else is doing it!" which is of course, false. The idea that someone is "wealthy" I also always chuckle at as well. People want to build an illusion so other people will be envious, which it looks like your friend here has accomplished. I had a very attractive client show up in his Lamborghini and would always show me his new Rolex watches. Why the FUCK was this guy seeing me when he could afford anyone?!?  His visits got less frequent but he blamed it on "life and business issues." Truth was he was in debt up to his eyeballs and on the verge of filing bankruptcy. Your friend might be in the top 1%, or the whole thing could be a smoke show. No, I am not cynical, but I for sure take everything I see and hear now with a grain of salt before making up my mind as to what is real vs. fiction.

I read ads all the time stating natural offerings, raw, bare it’s pretty amazing to see, so openly.

I read reviews here on TER stating no condoms were used. I have heard it first hand from providers whose regulars push boundaries.

The fact is if you have an SO, or are married I assume you do not use condoms with your partner.

I guarantee the majority of people who are in a relationship don’t use condoms.

To each their own. Your body your choice. No judgement. These are different times.

When I started way back when… they used to give hand jobs with a condom on and a glove. lol 😆 Look at me now offering trips to the islands. Life is interesting, so never say, never.

Your comparisons are extremely flawed. Apples and oranges.

Its not that "everyone is doing it" as much as it is "people are doing it". When people see others doing it and reporting back that they are just fine, of course others are going to try it.

Its like sushi and skydiving. Someone had to go first.

His post clearly said his friend told him "no one is using condoms". That is false.
And no, most people do not see others doing something and then "of course" do it also. That is also false. People that are very easy to manipulate or do not know how to make a "pros vs cons" list for their individual life decisions are going to just go off what other people did or said, which unfortunately is why we live in a society where many such individuals do not want to take responsibility for their personal life decisions. Obviously being a sex workers has pros vs cons. Right now the pros outweigh the cons, and that is why I still do it. I quit drinking alcohol because the cons were greater than the pros. That is why I quit drinking alcohol. The only pro of me forgoing condoms as a sex worker is I could probably charge more money, but I have other revenue streams so the cons list of not using condoms far outweighs the pros, so I require them.
And no, no one is talking about apples, oranges, sushi, or skydiving. We are discussing human behavior and how and why people make the decisions they do. "People are doing it and they are just fine" is the most ridiculous justification for doing anything, but from your posts and reviews I don't get the impression you do a deep intellectual dive on very many of your personal life decisions. But hey, you do you. All is good until it is not.

Someone in a long term relationship or marriage where they do not sleep with others is very normal. If they are smart about it, they get tested first when they decide to go that route. And, then they do not cheat. Unfortunately, too many end up cheating. I can't quite understand how someone could do that to a partner who has agreed to go bare with them. It's one thing to cheat at all. It's a whole other thing to do it when you're going bare with your long term partner and putting them at a risk they have no choice in.

Hookups or providers going bare is different. I don't think as many are doing it as some like to claim. It might be more common with some rich dude who will pour money all over a lady who he beds. I'm not sure since I'm not some rich dude lol.

As for providers, it's rampant with k-girls. Those who advertise it outside of k-girls often, not always, say testing is required. Then, there are the ones who do not advertise it. In my experience, when it's not advertised, it's more YMMV. There are a small number that don't advertise it and do it with every client anyway. From what I have seen, these usually are either older providers or ones that are very high end/ low volume. For the YMMV ones, some will do it at some point with a regular they feel comfortable with, find more attractive, or who has simply treated them so well, they want to do something a little extra. And, every once in awhile, a provider will just say "fuck it" with a client she has not seen before.

Just like he is off base by saying no one uses condoms, aren't you also off base by saying no one wants to admit that?

For example, I often go bare and hold myself accountable for those decisions. They aren't decisions I'm necessarily proud of, just like you and alcohol. But I'm also not gonna blame anyone but myself (not even my dick) for them. Some of us don't run from accountability.

And I actually agree with you that "everyone is doing this" is a terrible justification for anything. It's fallacy of appeal to majority as well as fallacy of appeal to tradition ("everyone has been doing this" ).

I've had more sex as a civvie than as a professional. And before entering this P4P world, I probably used condoms maybe 10% of the time. Thankfully, the only positive test I've ever had related to sex was for pregnancy - and I made damn sure that wouldn't be happening again. When your kitty is what puts a roof over your head, it's only natural that you're more concerned with keeping her in good working condition. And sure, I could probably find a dude willing to share his roof, bed and food with me but I'm not the only one one in the picture to worry about. I'd not just be jeopardizing myself, but the roof, comfort and ridiculously expensive prescription food for my furry, fat fucker as well.

Did you make this? The last part is backwards. Asking for the test results is not the risk, not using a condom is the risk.
It should read "it is what I require for me to take the risk of having sex without a condom".

I haven't dated for forty years, so maybe what this man says is true. But I have not had that experience with providers (was that the point of this thread?)  with the exception of one recent higher end lady who was fine with the condom sliding off during Greek. I was not okay and took care of bidness for my own health.
Stay safe out there.

That is a fair question. I think in the moment you may be thinking the pros outweigh the cons, but if you are able to take responsibility for what you did and pay the consequences then you would be holding yourself accountable.

To your specific questions -- Yes.
I notice that not "everyone else" eats sushi or skydives, both broadly in society and specifically in my personal circle.
.
More generally, we humans have always tended to behave as a herd part of the time.  Common words like Trend, Fashion, Conformity, Taboo, Normal, Weird, attest to this.  The error lies in mistaking "many visible people" for "EVERYONE".

I'm glad we're on the same page.

Imo it's just like a bad decision to do anything bad to your health, obviously the magnitudes are different.

Sometimes you think of only short term instant gratification over the long term impaxt. Or you feel like gambling. Smart? Hell no. But as long as I'm fully aware of consequences.. It's  all me making the decision. Not some dude on the board saying it's safe, not gangster rap or peppermint schnapps.

Many, for sushi.  A few, for skydiving.
Everyone, no.
Many who completely refuse for sushi.  Many more for skydiving.
It's not rocket surgery.
"Everyone does it" is pretty much always a weak excuse for doing something unwisely.
Which does not describe sushi and skydiving.

WTH? This is a ridiculous comparison. Apples and cannon balls.

I'd rather have undated gas-station sushi than BB any day. And even fugu, which I think you're referring to, is prepared by PROFESSIONALS.

Skydiving is a highly safe and heavily regulated sport. You've clearly never been. Ok. The first step is "tandem skydiving", with a trained professional on your back. Even then, you have to go through hours of training because the PROFESSIONAL doesn't want you to kill THEM when you freak out.

The U.S. Army spends 3-4 weeks, 24 hrs/ day training people to "skydive". Then you have to actually skydive every 90days to stay certified. To be a "rigger", which is the guy who loads the parachutes, takes 13 weeks of training plus a history of 100 injury-free jumps. To be a "jumpmaster", which is the guy who checks everything last minute, and yells "go" at specific intervals, requires another 3-week class, a recommendation from an O-5 or above, and a long speech memorization, just to try out. Personally, I've never understood why anyone would want this much responsibility, but 🤷‍♀️.

Skydiving is EXILLERATING. It is way better than sex, and I'm a sex addict. BUT, it's HORRIBLE on the joints, even with proper technique. People QUIT skydiving because they want to be able to walk on their own at 80, although the pay is nice.

So, umm, BBFS is NOTHING like either -- even with your "test". Please don't insult sushi or skydiving again. Better yet, STOP TALKING ABOUT STUFF THAT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT! I'm thick-skinned, and it's infuriating me! And, I thought you were leaving? Does being a troll honestly get your little pecker that hard?

holystonethedeck 104 Reviews 69 reads

How is it tough on the joints? With sport chutes the landing is soft.

Also I wouldn't call static line jumps skydiving. I made three jumps in college and loved it. Tandem jumps weren't a thing then so my jumps were solo. Back then you needed 5 perfect static line jumps before you could freefall. I wanted to do all that and get my license but the skydiving center was almost a three hour drive from home and I couldn't make it work.

KatieKuada See my TER Reviews 76 reads

Well, everyone's "soft" is relative. A fall on the ground is a fall on the ground. LOL. You are statistically more likely to get hurt static line jumping, mainly because you can get tied up in the wire. But I see the debate that it isn't skydiving,...

Do you still jump? You must if you're talking about sport chutes. Well, Holy Stone!

Same concept applies to sushi. You wouldnt be the one to go first for the raw fish if you didnt see everyone else do it first.

But the phrase "go first" offers a hint if you want it.
