10 min is all she gets. I don't care about her excuses, legit or not. I just don't have time for it. Same standard is applied to civ chicks and pretty much everyone else is that is not paying ME for my time.

Hello All,

I’ve experienced several recent episodes of lack of reliability/timeliness of Providers.  We have seemingly agreed on time and location only to have plans fall through when either she does not answer the phone after I’ve arrived, or worse – she answers the phone only to advise that she herself has not yet arrived to the location.  I’ve experienced such instances both with Providers I see regularly as well as some I’m meeting for the first time.

I don’t mind a Provider asking for a few minutes, but when I’m waiting 30 minutes or more beyond the agreed-upon time then it is a problem for me.  My time is valuable too.  I’ve begun allowing 20 minutes.  If after that amount of time if I’ve either been unable to contact her on the phone or have not met her yet, then I depart.  I may leave disappointed, and the Provider may feel she was “stood up”, but what else is there to do?  At some point you have to cut your losses.

Is this as common an occurrence as it seems to me?  Or am I just consistently unlucky….?   I’m interested in experiences others have had, and any strategies which might increase the odds that a Provider will live up to the agreed-up timeline.

Regards to all,
Golova

I believe you are well in your right to cancel, although a phone call would avoid you being blacklisted by a provider as being stood up. There are going to be things for anyone that can and do pop up like traffic etc, but I believe the more notice you give of your appointment the better result you will get. I always try to be on time 95% of the time, but life happens to all of us. I agree that if they expect to have their time respected by you, any provider should in turn respect your time. Find higher quality providers who show a level of personality on their ads, and principal.

... it's because she somehow saw a picture of me somewhere as part of the screening process.

It's hard to fault a girl for failing to show when she discovers I look like Freddie in Nightmare on Elm Street except only 3' tall and weighing 500 lbs.

Going to have to agree with Mr. F...  I am regularly asked by excellent providers to give them an extra few mins to finish dressing, etc.  I always strive to be spot ON-TIME..  Not noticeably early and lurky, not late by more than 5-10 mins because well...  it is Time on the Clock!  *smile*

Anything more than 1/2 an hour though without prior notice or if they are not letting you know what is going on is justification for at least a re-schedule if not a "Move On!"

Don't hold your breath.  First of all, you're dealing with women.  Not being sexist, but come on.  We've all had girlfriends who say they'll be ready to leave for whatever in half an hour, as they are doing the clothes and make up.  I think you're expecting too much for a gal to show up at exactly the time appointed.  In LA, you never know about traffic.  My normal outcall gals are always late for one reason or another, some show up an hour later.   I think you leaving only giving her 20 minutes is dangerous, you will get blacklisted, IMHO.

However, I think any provider should have the courtesy to text you or call to say that they are running late.  Which my regulars do.  But you sound by your email it is quite a pet peeve or yours, so I don't even think gals that tell you that they are will be late will please you.

Why don't you try telling them to show up half an hour early? LOL

Sorry for not clarifying -- I'm talking about incalls.  So I'm not expecting the Provider to show up 'at exactly the time appointed', and cannot ask her to show up early.  So since incall the presumption, unless she says otherwise, is that she is already there.  Thus traffic becomes an issue for me, rather than for her.

People being late or delayed is not a pet peeve of mine unless it is habitual. The situation I'm meaning is when a time is agreed upon, but at that time she is incommunicado by not answering her phone, or is not even there.  So if 20-30 minutes is not long enough to resolve or communicate on changes (I in reality wait at least 30 min) then what is a guy to do?  Like I said, at some point you've got to cut your losses.

I started out always being early, usually 15 to 20 minutes, all perky and ready. Finally got the message that this is not only undesirable, but downright annoying to most ladies, so I only "arrive" (even if I have been sitting in my car for an hour) 3-5 minutes before our date at the earliest, and try to arrive 3-5 minutes late.

There are a couple of women I know who are extremely punctual but for the most part I get the "Come on up in 5 minutes, hun" reply whenever I call (so long as it is not earlier than 5 minutes before our date). And once I realize a woman is punctual, I adjust accordingly. I suppose I could ask up front, but I am not at all convinced people are realistic about how punctual, or not, they are. There are some ladies who say "DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY" on their web sites, which is helpful. My experience is that those ladies actually are pretty punctual.

Once I have called, assuming I do not get her, I wait another 5 minutes or so, then text or call back asking if everything is okay. If we get 15 or 20 minutes past the time and I still have not heard anything I will call back and say I am wondering what is up and whether there was some confusion with our date. Then, at whatever point I have decided to draw the line (which varies - I have a regular who is pretty flaky and often pretty late, but makes up for it with her performance as well as the fact that she truly is oblivious to the clock, which both explains why she is late, and why our dates only end when I look at the clock, realize we passed the time I paid for quite a while ago and say my goodbyes). So you might want to consider whether being unpunctual, a little bit oblivious to the clock, is a good thing or a bad thing.

Anyway, by the time I get to that third call or text 15 minutes or more past the time and without any reply, odds are it is NCNS. But I will usually hang around another 10 minutes or so, then leave a last message saying I am taking off, must have been some confusion, but I have to be somewhere now.

Which is fairly uncommon. Much more common is that the lady is running late, lets me know, apologizes and I wait for her. It used to upset me, but I expect and accept it now, and it gives me a chance to be nice, build a little more phone rapport and that kindness is usually repaid generously. Nothing quite like a big hug and kiss, a "thanks for being patient" and I can aw shucks my way to...

So I bring a newspaper, maybe a bottle of water, make myself comfortable, catch up on the news, and let myself fill with pleasant anticipation. I do believe this is about fun and relaxation, isn't it? But if your schedule is tight, keep looking until you find one of those really punctual women - you will probably get along better with her anyway.

That is, if an escort is 15 to 30 minutes late, in her mind, she's on time. And btw, I do incall most of the time. I usually just bolt for a place away from the incall, and wait until I get the call or text.

even "fashionably" late and I detest it when others are late in any case. Those who are continually late seem to be those who are 20 or more years younger than me.

I read somewhere that being continually late for a particular activity is a sign that they don't like their jobs...

Thanks!  Makes me feel better to see others agreeing on principle.

I'm thankful for the responses and think this is a relevant topic to discuss. But very surprised how most seem to think being late/unreliable/not-answering-phone-after-arrangement-confirmed is acceptable and expected.    Very odd.

I call a few minutes before the appointed time. If there is not contact at all by 5 after, I'm gone. Even if she answered her phone, I rarely give more that ten minutes extra. I try to allow 30 minutes total extra time. 15 minutes wiggle on the front and 15 on the back for me.

Don't you remember high school where you arrived at the girls home to pick her up for a date and being on time only to sit for a half hour in the living room having to make conversation with Mom and Dad until she decided to be ready? You had plans for the evening but not the plans you told them when Mom and Dad asked what was on tap. Some things never change.

I also contact the lady before I leave as to not waste my time. My time is worth as much as hers. In fact as I am the customer. I am very punctual with my paid dates and I expect the same. Luckily, I haven't had much of an issue as most of the ladies have met my expectations.

Yeah, sure these girls are "professionals", but they're "working girls"!

It's not like you're meeting your clients, or your lawyer, or picking up your kids from school at 3:30PM on the dot.

In the work I do, I have to manage a number of people to be at a certain location at a very specific time, and if people don't show up, yes it's costing me money.  So of course that makes me crazy, and it's a pet peeve of mine.

But seeing a girl is pure entertainment.   It's not like a "work" thing.  It think a lot of you guys are really wound up tight.  Just like anyone else, I don't like to wait if I'm arriving at an appointed time to see a gal at her incall, but shit happens.  Of course if she has no excuse, don't see her again, plenty of fish in the sea.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with being "working girls", not being a "work thing" or being "wound up tight". Yes, shit happens but that doesn't mean you should stop being courteous or that you should forget your manners because of it.

Being punctual shows you respect the other persons time whether meeting a hobbyist, provider, friend, family member or business associate. The minute you realize you're going to be late or have to cancel, you need to make some effort to communicate this to the person you're meeting so they have an opportunity to work around YOUR challenge. Otherwise, you're making YOUR problem someone else's. You're also just being rude, lazy, selfish and disrespectful of the other persons time.

Can anyone really argue against this rationale for any viable reason? This topic has been discussed ad nauseam in the past and I have yet to see anyone provide a legitimate argument against it.
