So I just saw a post on one of the boards in which a provider with hundreds of reviews posted a fake photo on a thread day thread.

This got me thinking....

When is it acceptable to use fake photos?

Once a lady is considered reputable and legit, is it ok if the photos are a good representation of them?

If a lady is having privacy issues or is high profile (career wise) and needs to be UTR, is it ok to use them if they are a good representation of her?

I appreciate your thoughts.

I can understand privacy issues, but it's quite easy to blur out a pic for privacy. I cannot think of a single legitimate reason for a woman to use blatantly fake pic and represent it  as her own.

I will confess that many of the Asian and Latina (especially the Brazilians)  agencies have been using stock pics for years and seem to get a pass on it, but I guess that's a topic for a different thread.

I don't think using fake photos is ever a good idea. Even if the provider has a good reputation once a fake photo is identified it creates an element of doubt that could put people off. It's like a sports star, they may only cheat once but it's something that will be brought up throughout the rest of their career.

She may have good reasons to do it, as you said privacy, her profile, but it could draw attention to her for all the wrong reasons and end up harming her work as a provider while doing nothing to help with whatever reason she had in the first place.

Surely there is good enough software out there to obscure a provider's face well, without making it look like something that has had ink just spilled all over it.

If she was inclined she could consider using a few photos of other things that would represent her, a sunset, a romantic restaurant, something that interests her, etc, and can be used along with photos of her that she is happy to use, they might have the desired effect and wouldn't compromise her privacy if that is her concern.

The silly thing is that this provider has good professional photos that she could have used and has no need to be UTR since she has posted enough information about herself that a simple internet search reveals plenty of face photos

I called out a top rated provider in SD for using fake photos.  I felt sorry for the real model who's photos were stolen to be used instead of the escort who thought it was a good representation due to privacy issue.  Wtf! What about the model who was a victim of violation?  What about her family & privacy issues? My biggest problem with this slanderous act is what if the model who's photos are now online without her knowledge for sex worker acts has children?

Unacceptable.

Your not a reputable provider if you post fake pictures, or steal photos from models without their knowledge, or approval.

there is no reason whatsoever to use fake pics.A provider can blur or crop her pictures.
Or she can pose a certain way so her face is not showing in a picture.
Now,if a person wants to use fake pics but says it on their ads or website that the pics are not real but a fair representation. At that point the guy has a choice if he wants to move forward or not since he knows those are not her real pics.

IMHO it is never ok to post a fake photo. If she is well known and reputable then she's even dumber to post a fake photo as everyone would know it wasn't her. As far as having privacy issues...then blur out your face...if you feel you have to go any more private than that then you are in the wrong business. Not only that it leads be to believe what does she have to hide and makes me think that she has some self-esteem issues. What man wants to be with a woman who isn't sexy and confident in who she is?
Even if it is a close representation to what she looks like eventually she is going to be found out and it isn't going to look good for her!

just my 2 cents =)

If a provider uses a fake pic, SOMEBODY belongs to that pic. Or more accurately that pic belongs to somebody.

I still say that using a blurred pic or having a photographer take shots that will hide any identifying features is a much better solution to the problem.

can agree with that but what if the photos are not a models or porn star? what if they are just some random stock photo and she still blurs the face? she would have to being they are not of her. not all providers have the luxury of broadcasting what they do for a living and showing their face as if they are never going to do anything else for the rest of their lives. i would say doing that pretty much screws you from any real career.

It's never ok to use fake photos. If a girl posts a fake pic, that makes her look bad and her reputation will be ruined.

as long as the body is a good representation and the face is blurred anyhow, I really don't see the harm, especially if the provider is upfront about the fact that the pics are only representative of how she looks. Yeah, I could go for that.

BTW even though I personally like a full face shot of who I am going to go see, I can completely appreciate the fact that the internet is forever while hooking is a temporary thing for most ladies. I can not criticize a woman for not wanting her grandkids to stumbler across her hooker pictures someday, or her future boss, or any one of a thousand people in her future life.

Re the shoulders (or any other unique physical feature), a good photographer shoot her at angles where that's minimized.  Lots of girls has distinctive tattoos, but those can be airbrushed out.  As GaGa said, the face can be blurred or it can be obscured by her hair, or just partially in the shot.  All these techniques are legitimate ways to protect her privacy.  Using someone else's photos is not.

People are lured in by "good looking photos"
So if the client books you based on the photos and finds out that you look better than the photos you were using, great!

More than likely he'll only get offended about the latina part of your joke.

and you do know, all you white people look alike too. lol

escort post a fake photo on a theme day thread and thought it was odd. If ladies are posting fake photos to theme day threads now, the message that this isn't ok doesn't seem to be that clear. There are other top providers who get away with using fake photos on their sites, so it appears in some cases, it's acceptable to use fake photos....or at least certain providers can get away with it.

I will be diligent to make sure that I never bring this topic up again.

Thank you.

No, I don't see this topic discussed regularly, at least not in the manner that WOW posed it. I think it was a legitimate question, and not like the constant dick size/I've fallen for a provider threads that are discussed here ad nauseam.

Hey if Hotplants can WK for me, why can't I WK for WOW?especially when she is in the right.

I gave my answer that fake pics should never be used, and I am firm  on that.

It's really just a related topic of when should new pics be posted, and what to do when the girl is 20 years older and 20 pounds fatter.

Fake pics, same thing should not be accepted.

Now go get yourself a drink and relax, everybody is so wound up.

Wow!
As I already answered your post earlier, I think it is never ok to use fake photos. However, we already know that many do and get away with it on their websites, on eros ads, on backpage ads etc. But on a TER theme day thread I think that`s a new low! I just looked at the rules for theme days tough, and there is no specific rule against using fake pictures. I am sure that is unintentional, and it should be added in to their rules. A lady caught doing that should be delisted, or at the least, moderated for a first offense.

Photo Theme Day:

Allowed on Regional Board: Mon, Wed & Sat
On the 60 and Over & BDSM Boards: Thurs

 - Thread should be started by a local provider (first city serviced) or local agency only
- Only 1 photo theme per day
 - Only local providers, local agencies and visiting providers with an active visiting ad (posted within the last 7 days) may participate
- Provider cannot post a photo for another provider
- Agencies may only post a photo of a provider listed on their site
- Theme can not be started earlier than 5 am (local time)
- Providers & agencies can post only 1 photo per theme day
 - A collage (multiple photos that are/appear to be 1 photo is not allowed
- Photos should be related to the theme & not be 'overused' - Candid photos are great!
- No links are allowed
- Text is NOT allowed in the message section of the post
- The subject line should not include website, email, or phone number or sound like an ad
- Provider should post under the OP's original post
- Only the watermark trademark of the provider, the provider's name or the photographer's name (copyright) is allowed on photo; the photo, when clicked should not link to provider's website or web ad; photo hosting sites are ok
- Comments, from both the guys and gals on photos, are allowed BUT posters should only respond to the photo post, not to a member's response.  Responses should not be an ad. Do Not start a new discussion.

perfectstorm 19 Reviews 933 reads

and while they have all these rules about posting pics, there is no rule against using fake pics! I think it is crazy. Obviously TER has no control over providers using fake pics on their personal websites or eros, backpage and other ad sites, but certainly they can have control over pics on TER!

It is never ok to use false pictures of pictures that are misrepresentation of who you are, it is dishonest and slightly disturbing, only because it is important to at least establish a decent level of trust, how does that work if you are posting fake pictures?
