Hello all.  I am new to the community.  As I'm just starting out, I have something on my mind...

The media coverage of the industry focuses on the negative experiences of those involved.  In particular, I have read stories about the trafficking of women, the exploitation of the vulnerable, and the enlistment of underage providers.  It is extremely important to me that the money I spend does not go to support those who are exploiting providers.  It is extremely important to me that my provider is a woman who has chosen this line of work and is satisfied with that choice.

I feel the need to ask those with more experience: how can I be sure that the provider I find is not a victim?

I will not be mollified by an explanation of how uncommon it is.  This is one of those things for which once is too many.  Right now, all I'm working off is: 1) A vague distrust of all agencies; 2) Genuine apprehension towards agencies with many young Asian or eastern European women.  I would be very grateful if any experienced clients or providers can provide more specific guidelines.  Thank you.

Look up who's seen her, who they've seen, how they review her, if anybody else was lurking around, price, location, type of hotel, her attitude in appointments per reviews, where she advertises… there are many ways you can tell.

Independent doesn't always tell you she doesn't have a pimp.

If you stick with well reviewed TER girls it is highly unlikely she'll be trafficked.  You can learn a lot by reading reviews.
That said, no one can ever assure you the provider you choose is "satisfied" with her choice, just as no one can assure you that you won't catch an STD or get busted, or robbed, or any of the bad things that can happen in this game.
If you find that any of the negatives are more important than the positives you should simply find another game to play.
Best of luck.

You can never be absolutely sure, with out the knowledge of what might be considered too much verifiable personal information.

Like you said learn as much relevant info as you can, and way the negative against the positive.

When ever I see a question about possible human trafficking. I wonder if the people asking the question take in account. The other mostly legal businesses, who profit from HT.

Sometimes it may not have appearance of an agency and she may be pimped out by someone. Its not really all that uncommon. Also when you see the girl, and she appears underage, just take your stuff and leave.

Also remember, that there are quite a few of them doing drugs. While I would knowingly not support anyone with substance abuse issues, we as consumers have very little control over their value system, and what they do with the money once it leaves our hands.

Its smart to control the things you can control, and not worry about those which you can't, and most importantly know the difference....

Good luck with hobbying in the coming year..

So act in a civil and equitable manner with whomever you meet.

Maybe she is an indie who is beholden to some ruthless pimp, but we'll never know for sure.

You can at least brighten up her day by treating her nicely.

And I applaud all for not shitting all over the term socially conscious.

stay away from under age.  I'm not inclined to the youngest legal group so have a bit of an age cushion.
I'm quite sure my Favs past & present, are not pimped or trafficked...  but one does run into those who make choices we don't approve of or think wise.  I'm not talking about young women but mature adults!  Sometimes, one must step back...  as they are fully capable adults.

What you asked is not a bad question.  Just be alert & act on your senses.

and you will find the basic premise is to see well-reviewed ladies who have multiple reviews from established reviewers. There is also a Self-Help Center (see the red & white lifesaver top right) accessible from the newbie board.

Good luck.

Right.  Just like I can't control it when the clerk at my grocery store blows his income on drugs, I can't control it if the provider has personal habits I find unwise.  Since we're all free to make our own choices, I'm at peace with that.

I think I would totally freak out if I met with a provider who was high for the session, though.  To me that's a huge red flag for exploitation.  Or, at least, an inability to be comfortable with her current vocation.

Thank you for pointing out the link under the life-saver!  Many other (less pressing) questions are answered there, as well.

I considered posting this in the Newbies forum, but I figured that if someone was able to post a concrete list of specific red flags to look out for it would be of general use.

I've been reading a lot of reviews.  Some do reference shady run-ins with pimps...those providers immediately become unappealing.

remember a few things. First and foremost don't believe everything you read!! The numbers are just that, numbers, read the review to really try and figure out what the session will be like Check the reviewer's history, how many reviews has he written, does he tend to score high or low for that matter. You can try to back channel with the reviewer by sending them a pm, however, since you don't have any reviews yet, the responses may be limited. Chemistry or to use the dreaded word "connection" between you and the escort goes a long way into how enjoyable your time will be.

There really is no hobby manual (a specific list of red flags as you call it) most guys develop their own manual as they gain experience  Everyone makes mistakes as a newb, the trick is to limit them as much as possible.

You can spot a trafficked girl forced into prostitution 100 miles away. Don't look for the cheapest in sleepy places which is where they mostly operate.

If you can't spot a person living condition from the way they act then, you have a problem.

shouldn't see agency girls if this is a concern for you. Almost all agency girls are overcharged by the agencies they work for and as a provider I've heard tons of horror stories from women who have worked for agencies; even well known "ethical" agencies. It happens a lot more than companions let on to clientele.

I recommend seeing independent providers charging at least a minimum of 300 an hour (and I say that with a bit of a cringe as I really feel 500 an hour is more appropriate) who screen very well. A woman who is very concerned for her safety and is low volume is almost always secure, independent and drug free.

Good luck!

I have no confidence in my ability to spot a trafficked or exploited woman, particularly one who has been in that condition for some time.

The problem is that, and, we all know this, to succeed as a provider a woman must be an actor; that is true of trafficked providers as well.  She has a VERY strong incentive to not let on to me that she is unhappy; it makes it less likely that I will repeat and more likely that she will get in trouble with her abuser.

Staying away from women on the corners is easy.  Driving a provider who breaks down in tears to social services is easy.  Seeing through years of practiced cheerfulness?  That's hard.
