Hello Gents,

I was wondering if you have made any changes on the way you hobby, since all of this publicity about the Spitzer case?

And if so, what changes have you made?

Thanks, for your input :)

Have a Wonderful Day,
Kelly

Well, I find myself answering a lot of Spitzer-related questions from people at work. Is that what you mean?

The whole Spitzer thing makes me want to avoid agency gals altogether.  It seems to easy for records to be compromised.

I primarily see independent ladies and will make a more conserted attempt to see independents exclusively from now on.

Also, I have decided not to run for governor.  LOL

To mirror what has been said, I primarily look for independents with thorough screening process.

The whole publicity has made me that more careful and selective (a bit gun shy). Being "new" to the hobby, I started out with interest, excitement- bordering on "obsession". This news "slapped" me back to reality and I found myself "slowing" down on research and approaching providers.

I have not changed anything about my activities. I was careful before and I'm careful now. I used discrete indie and agency girls before and I do now.

The only effect this whole mess has had for me is that I have had to listen to and console a couple of very suite, intelligent and loving ladies (my two favs) as they lament the sudden onslaught of clueless and judgmental BS from the media and the general public directed towards women who choose to escort for a living.

It amazes me that the outcry for legalization is so strong in many threads on this board.  When you look at the sensationalist nature of the coverage that this whole mess has received it is painfully obvious to me that the political powers that be and the general public are no more accepting of the hobby now then in the past.  What makes people think that one more public bust will change anything?

Mainly seeing providers that I have seen before. If a provider is hot (been recently arrested, etc), I avoid her.

Kelly, I have taken a break on seeing new ladies for a while and am only seeing those I have seen before.

No changes yet, Kelly.  I have not yet used an agency, and now probably will never do it.   Besides, there are too many gorgeous indies out and about to worry about an agency.

I don't really think I will change anything in the future either.

I will avoid getting into politics however, so I don't need any campaign contributions now or in the future either.

Spitzer was just a dumbass, final answer.

I typically suck at small talk, so this topic is good for at least five minutes while I recuperate.  I study all of the posts below for material, and can sometimes stretch it into eight minutes. Just trying to turn a positive out of a negative.

I'd love to talk with you about it someday Kelly.  You know, in between .....  ;-)

I don't drive the lady across state lines.
I don't wire money to her any more.
COD so I don't have to worry if the payment is there yet.
Use ATM's so the tellers don't snitch.
Don't talk about money.
Brush your teeth before the date.

Oh yeah, one more thing: stay away from $3,000/hr agencies.

Of course I am self employed and I have no SO. There really isn't any reason for me to change a thing.

thanks for asking...the short answer is that i am being slightly more careful, as i have tried to be careful all along.  on a broader note, spitzer's problems stem from his arrogance and hypocrisy, not his choice of hobby.  however, the whole situation is riddled with hypocrisy as people want to demonize the profession.  one lawyer in NY had a very elegant quote about how we (in the US) will criticize a woman for making $2700 an hour with her clothes off, seemingly preferring her to make $10 an hour flipping burgers (with her clothes on!).

when I have my next chance to hobby.  Here is one weird detail....my wife and I talked about this and while she totally is against the hobby, she was sympathetic to a man in a marriage that was sexless.  Since these discussions, she has been sexually VERY attentive to me these last many days....hmmmmmmm.  Go figure!
I do wonder about when TER will be under the radar again!

I've not made any hobby changes as I stick to well reviewed ladies...  and repeat with faves from there.  Saw a fav last week who wanted to chat about it...  when I wanted to tonge play her perfect breasts...  When she came up for air, we proceeded.
Seriously, the lessons of Spitzer are numerous, I'm already doing this that arogant SOB did not.  This just confirms it.
Yes, my wifee has been more touchie-feelie this week.

Never, ever, ever.  Indies only!  Since there is now a full-time radio station (Sirius channel 126...Client Nine radio) drawing attention, we will all need to be careful in the weeks ahead.  All this publicity can only encourage LE to strike, and their budget will likely expand to go beyond CL in their quest to show society that they are are on the ball in the War Against Sex.  If I were running an agency, I would probably be limiting my business to already established clientele only, and would be leary about anyone connected to politics, until this shitstorm passes...

Generalizing about agencies is not fair. Risk is about the same with agencies and indies. Some indies, do store more information than you think.

I have frequented agencies without giving them any personal info other than my name and good references.

I have had experience where independent provider asking for more info even after giving good references. In that case, I politely turn them down. It is strange business, some indies vehemently dislike other providers and if your reference is from one of them, you are pretty much out of luck.

I have concidered agency work at one point, but always bothered me to put myself in someone elses hands. I know I am looking out for my best interest but not so sure an agency would as well. All this just reaffirms my own concerns. I trust myself but not willing to put myself into someone elses hands.

I don't want to add to the agency bashing either. Although I have always preferred Indies there are many reputable agencies out there whose screening is much less stringent then most indies. If they don't have your personal info it is impossible for them to share it with LE if they are ever busted.

To think that anyone that asks for your personal info, whether that be indy or agency is not going to retain it, is simply wishful thinking. The only foolproof way to make sure your info isn't floating around out there is to not give out it in the first place.
