Age Minimums

(Disclaimer: My goal is understanding, enlightenment, and discussion; I don't have an ulterior motive of changing minds! :) )

A lot of lovely ladies are well reviewed with happy clients. I'm not too active but I check reviews pretty often, if for no other reason than to live vicariously (lol)! Sometimes though I check it out and decide to pull the trigger and start researching her site and combing up and down for both caveats and to get a feel for the personality and then I see the dreaded phrase.

Gentlemen over ___ only.

I'm a relatively young guy in his late twenties and this puzzles me. Realistically I treat it much like one whose rate is out of my price range with no hard feelings. But I tend to see it an awful lot of really well reviewed non-agency providers and I wonder, well, why?

Much like haggling, I personally would find it in poor taste to try (and inevitably fail) at getting an exemption. Providers are free to set whatever rules they wish about the clients they take on and I'm not allowed to second guess any of it.

I can't quite see what's wrong with people my age, but it's obvious I wouldn't. I assume it's trying to filter on maturity level and lacking any other hard metric to measure it by will have to do. But what SPECIFICALLY within maturity... ?

Providers: What's your age minimum and why did you set it there?
Hobbyists: Ever been turned away (or chosen not to schedule) with someone who set the bar too high? Are you now old enough to pass and wish you had access to that class of woman earlier in life?

Your reasoning as stated above, is basically correct.  This issue comes up on the boards every once in a while, and the providers that respond generally say that they have either personally experienced a lack of maturity in a certain age group or have been warned away by other more experienced providers.

Often, a hobbyist will mention that they have cirumvented an age group restriction either by having excellent references or by engaging in a mature, thoughtful correspondence with the provider in question.

I (being in my early 40s) have never been limited by the minimum age thing.  But I did once have a booking with an agency girl that had an unadvertised UPPER age limit (39 and below).  Since I was booked through their agent, I had no idea ... until she mentioned it as she checked my ID at the beginning of the session.

By the way, it was not a very good session.  So, my moral would be, best not to force the issue or try to sneak by.  If the lady is not comfortable, neither of you will probably enjoy it very much.

Just my thoughts.

I don't have a minimum per se but I agree about the stereotypes of younger hobbysts.  But young or old, I look for the same qualities; provide screening information, intelligent, mature and a gentleman.
