Come and listen to my story 'bout a man named Jed.
oops, but I never really paid attention. Really.
I was just having a PM session with a very cool provider whom I thought for sure would pass (or would that be fail) this test.
Note: I was not a big SNL fan
How may folks, clients vs providers, recognize the phrase, "Jane, you ignorant slut!"?
Just curious if there is a primary slit in the two groups due to sewed age demographics.
And Garrett Morris as Chico Esquela. Now, do you remember Lily Tomlin as the telephone operator ("One ringy-dingy.") on "Laugh-In?"
How many know all the words to the opening song for the Beverly Hillbillies.
"This here's the story 'bout a man named Jed..."
then one day he was shootin' at some food
when up through the ground came a'bubblin crude
oil, that is
black gold
texas 't'
and his pony pal Pokey too...
Annette Funicello and the Mouseceteers.
the kinfolk said
Jed! Move away from there!
they said Californy is the place you oughta be
so they loaded up the truck
and they moved to Beverleeee...
Damn, I'm feeling old. But, even as a kid, I wanted to bang the stuffing out of Ellie Mae. If I could only have gotten her in a room without all of her critters, I'd have slipped her some of grannies moonshine...
Ah, youth.
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality
Hillbilly that is. Set a spell. Take your shoes off. Y'all come back now, y'hear?
Come and listen to my story 'bout a man named Jed.
oops, but I never really paid attention. Really.
"A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed!"
I'm the one who told Shakespeare about "To be, or not to be.."
He's nice guy, ya know? And he's got money, even though he looks like my uncle Sal, and uncle Sal don't any money not unless aunt Mila gives him some, and you know how likely THAT is.
Anyways. He's a NICE guy, envelope on the bed for Christ's sake but, hey, its THERE.. you know what I MEAN? So I use the john, pull on my "outfit" and make sure my arms ain't stinky or nothin, and I just got these rabbit fur panties that I been DYING to use, except I worry that its gonna make me look in the dark like, you know, I got a BUSH till tomorrow, but I think it'll look good anyway and I go out into the room and this guys sitting there in his shorts looking small, so I say "HI BABY! ITS YOUR ROSANNE ROSANNA DANNA COME TO EAT YOU ALIVE!" And so he gets up from the bed and comes walking towards me and gives me this big smile.
I lean in to give him a smooch and he's got this teeny tiny little piece of spinach or something stuck to his teeth - right in front. And I keep LOOKING at it, I mean, mood breaker right??? And I want to say "Dude. You got tiny teeny little green piece of green shit on you" but he doesn't know, and I don't want to say anything so I real sly turn around and look and like say "So where's the champagne?" and he's all "what?" and I go "the bubbly" thinking, man I gotta get this guy to swish something in his mouth and get that green thing off his teeth that I can't stop THINKING about now and I'm going to myself "Shit I don't even want this guy to kiss me" and he's all "I didn't get any champagne" and so I said "Wait! I've got some! Hold on - let me get it" and I grabbed my bag because I didn't know what else to do and I just stepped out the door like "Just a second" real smooth. And when the door closed, I ran.
And you know, it's just like my grandmother used to say: "Rosanne Roseanna Danna, you just never know. Some guy may be EXACTLY want you like, with money and shit, but you'll find this ONE little thing that will bother you SO BAD that you just want to scream".
Back to you Jane
That and the cheeseburger bit stand out in my memory. Oh, and who can forget the (in)famous Elvis Costello performance? I was a kid when I saw that and still I understood what was happening. I decided right then and there that I wanted to be an artist. I wanted to be Elvis Costello when I grew up.
farm livin is the life for me.
Don't make me go Barnabas Collins on you.
LOL.. I use to know the entire intro song for 'Green Acres'... loved that show. In fact, I use to watch most of the shows you guys listed... thank Nick-at-Nite for that I guess, and parents that would never dream of letting me watch "garbage" like Roseanne, The Simpsons, or Married With Children...sigh.. I was so deprived as a child...
Who can forget 'I Dream of Jeanie' or 'Bewitched', 'MASH' and 'Levern and Shirley'... my dad actually named our dog after the stripper, or working girl(can;t remember) in MASH (Kasey). I didn't find out til yrs later when my mom told me where the dogs name really came from, lol, poor dog.

The great thing is that even in my 50's I can still get wood and with my experience with so many women (pros and civvies) I actually know what I'm doing! (or I am deluding myself...again).
I remember watching Barman movies at the drive-in in the back of the station wagon with a blanket and pillow.
There was The Courtship of Eddie's Father or The Family Affair...
Those are all shows I know and remember well. Anybody mention Petticoat Junction, Green Acres or some of the other detective shows; Beretta, Magnum PI, The Mod Squad, The Avengers, Hawaii five 0, I Spy, It takes a thief, the Saint, Mannix and secret agent man. How about the westerns: The big Valley Bonanza, The Virginian, Laredo, High Chaparral and Branded. You have goofy shows like Brady Bunch, F Troop, the flying Nun, Lost in Space, and of course The Monkeys. Some the classics though; The Outer Limits, Hitchcock, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Doris Day Show, Dick Van Dyke, Carrol Burnett, Here's Lucy. Jesus the more I think about it the crazier it gets.
I could go on but I think I'll be sorry if I do.
I'm 21 but spent 10 years in Alaska, we had like 20 channels and watching tv wasn't really encouraged
Who remembers this oldie but goldie?
I will confess to even singing along with him.
Even older, Lawrence Welk. I live close to the Ocean Park pier when he was still there.

The Millionaire (John Beresford Tipton had the $'s)
Zorro (and his mute sidekick Bernardo)
Whirlybirds (Chuck and P.T. could really fly those choppers)

Make Room for Daddy (Danny Thomas , Rusty Hamer,
Angela Cartwright)
Yancy Derringer (Who could forget X. Brands as his sidekick Pahoo-Ka-Ta-Wah)
Dragnet (“Ladies and gentlemen, the story you're about to hear is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.” & "just the facts mam, just the facts")
Adventures in Paradise (With the sailboat Kon Tiki)
Sky King ("Out of the clear blue of the western sky comes Sky King!")
The Life of Riley ("What a revoltin' development this is!")
The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis (who can forget Maynard G. Krebs and Zelda Gilroy and the fact that Warren Beatty and Tuesday Weld co-starred)
Okay, there are lot's more. However, I am running out of steam and as many have already said, I need a nap.
You had some GREAT ones that I forgot!!!
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and all the pet savior shows like Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, etc. Oh, and Jackie Gleason and The Little Rascals.
Bugs Bunny, Rocky & Bullwinkle, and Popeye.
Rawhide (Gil Favor and Rowdy Yates, aka Clint Eastwood).
The Addams Family (Carolyn Jones was hot even back then).
I read earlier that Carolyn Jones passed away 27 years ago today due to colon cancer.
Ah yes, I remember him, along with Lawrence Welk and Tommy Dorsey.
Mitch was on Friday nights. Right after some show with Don Ameche emceeing different circuses from around the globe...can't remember the name of that show.

How about Saturday afternoon wrestling with Killer Kowalski and Haystack Calhoun?
I don't think that skit is that old but it sure was hilarious. One of my faves!
I sure enjoyed the Stooges "second wind" when I was a kid.
