I was once a classic holdout, but someone told me something along those same lines once. When my eyes became accustomed to the lighter text it became easier to read and navigate. I haven't been on classic too much since. Eventually classic TER will be a thing of the past, probably sooner then later.
I'd say that many of the women who posted on the theme day threads might consider that as well.
