Like everything else around here it depends and my mood, the lady, and what I need/want at the time.
For a first date I usually like to spend 2-3 hours. For second or third if she isn't auditioning for ATF status then 89 minutes is my norm. But there are a few times I want to spend the weekend rolling around the house naked and enjoy the company as much as BCD activities. It really depends on how much we click and if she seems to be enjoying it as much as I am.
The last catagory is to take someone on an extended trip as a travelling companion. That can be fun but the pre-arrangements can be a bit business like for some.
In the midst of a long weekend with someone who I am auditioning to be my ATF, she is currently sleeping while I am too excited to sleep, I am debating the advantages of long sessions vs. one hour sessions.
One hour sessions provide plenty of variety ane realistically more sex/dollar. You can obviously be with more than one provider for the same amount of money.
Longer sessions on the other hand provide for more lesiurely sex, I don't have to have her clothes off the second she hits the door, at 2am I can lower her bottoms and have her from behind, my favorite position at one of my favorite times, you get to know them a lot better. They can come to you from out of town as she did from LA so I don't have to leave my life behind if I don't want to. Then Sunday she will leave and I will dive right back into my life.
Downside she did shoe up with 2 phones and her computer but 48hrs is a long time to ask someone to put their life aside and I did schedule in some work in the am for me to do so she will have the house to herself for awhile. Luckily she is not a nude french maid and I don't have $40K of jewelry laying around for her to steal, the ex took it with her. Besides the way she moved in here, I don't think she is planning on leaving early. LOL
We have been playing with my puppy this evening. Puppies work as well on providers as they do on civilians.
So gentleman, thoughts? Short vs long? How do you like to spend your money?

I would like to know what it cost you for a weekend? It would probably cost me a months icome for a decent provider for a weekend. I would rather spread it out a little.
I'll speak to 1 hr vs. 2 hrs. I've noticed that unless you're with a blow-and-go provider, that on first, initial visits with real by-God GFE providers, they don't watch the clock because they're looking to cultivate a regular, and in my experience, have been able to go 90 min to 2 hours on the first visit. I can't believe I'm THAT good is why. So I'm guessing it's the "introductory" special.
I've been doing 2 hours regularly, but on my first few 1 hour sessions, I always got more bang for my buck.
1 hr. vs. 48 hrs.? Not sure this is a valid comparison. Most of us are not willing/able to part w/ 5-10K, not to mention have the time, needed to enjoy such a scenario. A more valid comparison is 2 hrs. vs. 1 hr. ...deuce is always preferable when I know the lady. Pushing out to 4 hrs. or to an overnight with a lady I know and am comfortable with has always been delightful, but as you mentioned, doing this will hit your hobby budget, and limit the overall number of visits that can be made. It's definitely a balancing act!
I agree that 1 vs 48 probably isn't the best comparison. And it really depends on your finances and what you want. I know I would much prefer longer sessions. In fact I'm not interested in anything less than 3 as I need some sort of emotional connection to fully enjoy. And prefer 6 (hours or days (I'll take either)

as much time as possible with a lady I see. I'm not a 'high volume hobbyist', so for anyone I meet now we've already exchanged some emails and had some ideas for the extended time. My dates have recently ranged from 2-3 hours to three days.
On the multi-hour dates, depending on interests, we've explored some of the research I am following in human sexual physiology. I've also had wonderful times dancing in the room during breaks or at the end. It can be really fun having 'silly time' too where you crack each other up and get a good belly laugh. (If you can't relax and have silly fun after sharing intimate moments with someone, who can you? Anyone feeling adventurous, bring along a copy of some of the old surf music like 'Wipeout' and try dancing to that while you are both in your birthday suits. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your faces!)
On longer dates, I've also brought along clips from movies and have had nice conversations about them. There have been dates where we share photos and such about travels around the world.
On multi-day dates, if I am in another city, I've enjoyed having the lady show me around the sights in the city. Dinners out. Music Fairs. Museums. Personally, I have to admit that the more I do that type of get-together, the further I move away from wanting one-hour dates.
I'm not looking to change my state in life, but I do find that the subtleties that make us all unique have a better chance of coming out in a lady on longer dates. The 'fine wine' analogy has been used here a lot, and I find it to be true. People are fascinating novels to me and I enjoy the uniqueness each lady I see has.
That's so much fun, dancing naked, cooking dinner naked (no deep frying, too dangerous), playing twister naked! I love being silly and agree that it's hard to do in an hour.

I like incall so I can leave when I am done. Generally, for outcall, I am more than ready for the lady to leave when the hour is up.
I did do some overnights when I had business travel in Russia though... Wow. It would be well over my budget here.
I think I really like longer sessions. I've only had them with one provider and it was a product of her generosity. I booked far less time than she allowed.
However, my hobbying budget is limited (I just recently got to the point where I can afford it at all) and very long sessions will leave me masturbating alone for months at a time.
So, as much as I like the longer sessions, the more frequent (albeit brief) episodes of companionship are better overall for my mental health.
I used to do 1 hr appts. (in case of the dreaded ripoff or DUD) Now, I ONLY see ladies with a LOT of good reviews...and won't compromise on a few "must" items. When you find one that is REALLY great to be with...1 hr is just too quick...too business like. I enjoy talking with the lady, having a drink, then some good non-rushed playtime. Ya, I could see a lot more ladies with 1 hr meetings...but my preference is quality over quantity . My .02
BTW there is also a downside to the "out of town" lady. I met one from NY recently...she just knocked my socks off...if she lived here...I would be hanging around with her a LOT....but I can't! When she comes back....will prob do an all nighter...then she leaves! Ya I go back to my own life...but when someone takes over that ATF spot, NOT being able to see her is no fun either LOL
On the road, visiting a new girl, I seldom book more than an hour unless she is very well reviewed or offering a great 2 hour rate.
When seeing one of my regulars I always book two hours...which has been known to stretch into three or four hours...It's not all sexual activity as it's been a while since I could boink, lick and suck for that long. What I enjoy about longer sessions is the opportunity to relax and take things slowly. A good meal or a few drinks with a great lady, some good conversation and then a passionate roll in z' hay...It doesn't get any better!
As the time allotted increases, then the more the big head has to get involved. I say “has” to get involved since it’s a near certain requirement (unless she is a full blown, true nymphomaniac in which case I would be dead after just a few hours, LOL. I’ve only met one lady in 30+ years that fits this description).
During a short encounter there may only be enough time for the depletion of your testosterone reserves. As the time that is available goes up, then there is more time available to make connections at a variety of levels. It’s not unlike “dating”. The “Big Head” portion of the encounter might be totally emotional or totally intellectual or typically some combination of the two. Or it might not have enough of either, in which case you are just screwed, literally, LOL.

I've only done 1 or 2-hr dates, and I much prefer the longer date because I feel more comfortable when I get to know someone at least a little bit first. I"ve never done an overnight or longer date, but would love to do that, because I think the combination of conversation, intimate activities, and just "hanging out" together for a weekend would really be fun. I'd have to save up a long time for that, though.
I've reviewed 11 ladies and 7 of those were overnights. The other 4 ladies I would love to do an overnight with if time and my schedule permitted. Only one less than stellar experience out of the 11. There is just something so good about having a beautiful naked woman there in your arms that are willing to play whenever you are willing. To wake up in the middle of the night and snuggle up close is the best feeling ever. Out of the 7 ladies I'm talking about 85 overnights in the last 10 years.
