...maybe?  GaG and others adamantly refuse to see anyone in the OTHFBC.  One of this year's cover girls is a certified member of that club.  The next thread down talks about expanding boundaries and pushing limits.  How about expanding your boundaries to someone with an expanding waistline and pushing your limits with someone who has more cushion for your pushin'?

And a real sweetheart too. But calling her a Rookie, she has been a force in the modeling world plus size and straight for a while now.

People have different tastes both physically and mentally (and they can change from day to day).  I am not understanding the point of the thread.  Magazines are losing appeal due to all of the other types of media available and trying to change things up or a gimmick can be useful.

I have been sexually active for well over forty years and I pretty much know what does it for me and what does not. This woman, as you accurately predicted, does nothing for me sexually. I am sure there are others that will go gaga (pun intended) over her, but I am not one of them.

For the record, this woman is not in the OTHFBC, only in the FBC as she appears to be rather young and hardly "over the hill" she is most definitely fat though. Others may prefer to describe her as "thick" or to otherwise sugarcoat her size, but I wouldn't be me if I were to sugarcoat it, and it's hard to deny that she is most definitely overweight, but OTOH, she got herself on the cover of SI, you won't be seeing me on the cover of GQ anytime soon, so I guess she's the one laughing all the way to the bank, not me. I don't begrudge her a thing, but you are right, I still wouldn't fuck her. lol

I don't know who she is because I don't follow what the average person does but no matter, I think she's very attractive. Skinny is ugly to me. My sister shops in the childrens department that's how skinny she is. Not healthy if you ask me and she's a freaking nurse. I would rather see a gal like this in my bed any day.

I saw some of the show last night and while very beautiful, it may be the same as comparing Kate Upton to twiggy.

She is certainly a BBW, albeit very pretty. Not a bucket list kinda gal for me, since you asked .... lol

What show?

I think the best thing about the cover is that it doesn't seem to have that condescending "Real Women Have Curves" text that both implies she did not get the cover on the merits of attractiveness and puts down those of us who aren't curvy.

BTW, I don't get the connection between her and Kate Upton. I would most definitely do Kate. but even Aldo would have a challenge trimming enough weight off of Ashely Graham to get me to have even the slightest interest in her.

S.I. wouldn't give her the time of day.

But, the satisfaction that I get from "banging" a woman is much more magnified by viewing her in other ways.  Just like I can enjoy cooking and eating dinner in a remote wilderness area just as much, or more than, at a five star restaurant.

But, for looks, she is a 10 in my book.   And that is always the first step.

was live on ESPN last night. And you're right, there's no implications
about her getting the cover without merit. She has been an accomplished plus size model for years. And a beautiful woman too

Btw, there are actually 3 covers for SI this year, the first time that there's been more than 1! There's the traditional "classic?" looking bombshell, her and Ronda Rousey, the MMA fighter.

I think it's great that this champions a plus size woman's self image .... but I also realize it's also, and maybe more so, about Magazine Sales and advertising revenue. But good for her and all plus size woman. Providers too.

noted as being very free with airbrushing. And not just tattoos and identifiable marks. I have ZERO knowledge of whether this is factual, but can only speak of what I've heard from providers and read.

Not to mention makeup, hair care, shoes. etc etc.

I don't think SI is on a mission to glorify fat women so much as they are trying to make money, but as a free market capitalist myself, I surely don't hold it against them, but neither I am going to change my personal tastes in some kind of futile and ridiculous effort to be politically correct.

When you're in the "IBTC", it can feel as though curvy women get showered with more attention, but then not all of that attention is positive.

Those reviews that spotlight a slender provider having too few curves or, more euphemistically, referring to her figure as "boyish" (because thinness apparently connotes masculinity lol) never seem to be paid much mind, in my experience.  Even when it's meant in an unflattering tone, it barely earns an eyeroll.

Conversely, I've seen where a provider gets a review that merely alludes to her having a few extra curves and there's this big fallout.  The agency looks to conduct damage control or clients jump to her defense. It may be well-intentioned, but (IMO) more damaging and embarrassing than if the comment existed without both the provider and reviewer on trial.

Is in no way meant as a justification for how our society views and accepts women based on size. That's not my point at all, nor am i defending it. However, if you saw Ashley live on TV, she looks svelte  compared to her cover shot. That was my point. Period.

This has been an interesting post in that we've heard from both sides, both men and women, and their opinion and mores about women in general and women in the industry.

We each have our own likes and prferences. It's called attraction. Guys that like bigger women can be referred to as Chubby Chasers.
Not exactly a complinent, but in no way us it as detrimental to a woman's psyche or her idea of self worth as being called FAT!

I agree with men that want to spend their money elsewhere, but don't exactly admire the vitriol and negativity they include and their explanations of their preferences. It might be the same as if the women came on here and talked about all the guys that are FAT, dirty, and on possession of a tiny dick. But they don't personalize it, even when they speak with an alias. Unfortunately many of the guys, since they're paying, feel that they're also entitled to insult women in general. IMHO, you guys blow. But I still love you all!

Ok, no I don't 😆

Fascinating! I hadn't read about the idea of thin women being better "kept" women for men who want an ornament rather than a partner. I wonder if there's been research to back that up. Do you know, Alyson? It is a logical inference, now that I think about it. And of course the greedy, selfish converse for fuller-figured women.

I do remember reading many, many years ago (I am a proud, card-carrying member of the OTHFBC) that there was some psychology study done where they measured men's pupils' reactions to photos of women, and compared them to the scores they gave the women. Our pupils react to something we desire by dilating. So (I think this was in the late 60s, early 70s) the ideal of the time was Twiggy; very thin women were considered the most attractive, so the men usually scored the thinnest women higher. But the pupils of the men told a different story: they often dilated while looking at women who had a classic hourglass figure- more voluptuous. Interesting, no?

I do think that as much as we try to deny it, our opinions on many tastes are so easily controlled by media. Has anyone ever seen the documentary "The Century of the Self"? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Century_of_the_Self ) It's really telling about this sort of thing. Here it is on youtube:

I think SI has joined the Social Change movement that is busy trying to change the defintion of "model beauty" along with chubby Barbie...

Several years ago the media tried to convince us that Camryn Manheim was a beautiful woman but lost that one because she's really and truly not...I think they realized they took on more than they could get past...

Kate Upton was SI's first attempt and that was a major success so with this one they're pushing the envelope a little further...

She not even close to thin but in IMO she not the size to the model pictured in the OP. Ashley Graham is a size 16 plus size model. Kate has more of a Amazon body type as she's 5'10" and stacked.

Personally, I'm glad SI is branching out to featuring different body types and this this year they have older ladies as well.

To me beauty can take various forms. Everyone has their own body type, and if the woman is true to that any body form can be beautiful.

As men we all have our preferences but I think we should be less shallow about conforming to norms. All different size women are and can be hot. The model is definitively hot.

I tend to prefer more full women than spinners but that is my taste. I would not go so far as to "I would not" with respect to thinner women though. Heck, we are men.

Alyson, you would be amazing as a size 8. And Sarah you are stunning.
