This issue has been touched on but not completely, at least not in my opinion.
I have reason to believe that I have worked with not one, but two different providers, in a civilian capacity, at the same time, at the same place, on the same project. As it happens, I have not worked with either of them in at least three years, and have not communicated with one, and very sporadicaly since leaving that firm, with the other in the same amount of time.
My questions are as follows: Can an average size tattoo on the small of the back be "airbrushed", or removed from a photo by any other means?
With the exception of the aforementioned tattoo, the photos(face partially obstructed), as well as other info on the providers web site lead me to believe that I know this person.
The same holds true as regards the other provider. She too left several clues on her respective web site that also leads me to believe that I know her as well.
I should point out that my intent is to meet both these providers at some point. I am not, repeat not looking for a freebie.
When the time comes and I make the initial contact, should I mention that we might know each other, or should I just let it go, and show up at the appointed time.
I generally don't like to surprise anyone like that, and truth be told if these girls are who I think they are, they will say something first. However, if they don't what would you recommend I do? Anyone who cares to feel free. Thanks
Yes to the tatoo airbrushing question, quite easily.
Tread lightly when it comes to 'surprising' either of these ladies. Most of the providers I know do not like to mix their private and 'professional' lives, and those who do, like to do it on their own terms, not have it sprung on them.
I like your idea of letting them know upfront that you may know each other already. Perhaps a way to ease tension in this manner would be to state the obvious fact that if upon meeting you for a session the lady does have the option of not going through with the appt. (OF COURSE, this is always the case) Letting them/her know you are ok with this, will perhaps get this from hypothesis to reality.
I'd be interested in hearing what the ladies have to say about this.
In the instance of the tatoo, you should tell the lady up front that you may know her from a "straight" job, and mention that the lady you knew had a tatoo, describing it. She can then confirm or deny you suspicion. Just be very diplomatic and assure her, again up front, that you have no intention of embarrassing or "outing" her. But imagine her, and your, embarrassment if you showed up and you both immediately recognized one another.
Explain, first that you are not looking for a freebie, not going to expose them, but you think you know them, that you are looking to make an appointment.
I have had 2 gents inquire to me that I knew. That didn't bother me.
At first, I thought they were going to say something, but they never did.
