What is sex to you?

No one answer to that one. Also no right or wrong answer either.

It's about alot a shit. Depends on the mood, the two (or more) people involved and how they play off of each other.

Sometimes it's about the things you mentioned, sometimes it's about something totally unrelated.

Some nights it's just about getting laid. No thought, no connection, no anything except the physical. Although I will admit, those nights are few and far between. Other nights it may be about nothing more than seeing how softly I can touch a woman, and then sometimes it's all about the mental connection, and everything in between all of that.

Within this venue, it is a much needed release; release of stress, tension, aggression. It helps me cope with life a similar way some might seek the help of a therapist or counselor. Companionship, the warmth and compassion of another human being so close and intimate with you, is a very powerful thing that lifts my spirits and just makes me feel better in general. One might think of this as my own anti-depressant.

Sex is a purely animal act, intended and developed as a means of, and for the purpose of, propogation of the species..

And yet..

Sex releases as much energy as a 3 mile jog.

Anyone looking to sex for validation or acceptance will be forever engaged in a search that has no end... because the only validation or acceptance that means a damn is your own.. not because I say so, not because wise men say so, but because you'll never believe anyone else accepts you until you do.

Sex is..

An affirmation of life, not only for the glorious moments at the end whose sensations the French call "la petit mort" (the little death!!!), but because we are the only animals on earth that do it for pleasure combined with emotional fulfillment..

Because at the end of the day, when you feel alone, and separate, and distinct, there is little better than to intertwine your life with another human being, little more beautiful and wondrous than to prove you are ALIVE by blurring the lines between bodies and souls, to touch and be touched by another human being, for we live all our lives so isolated from each other...

For my own part, as one so obsessed with why we are here and in the absence of any objective reason, only one answer remains that has any sway.. that the only thing that gives our lives meaning is each other.  

There is less joy, without another with whom to share it;

There is less accomplishment, without another to be proud of it;

There is no intimacy, without another with whom to have it.

At the end of the day, sex proves we're here for each other.

Oh and it feels good too.

It's about feeling WANTED and DESIRED.  For some of us (pointing to myself), these feelings don't come knockin' very often.

Don't mean to get picky, but just to let you know that in fact it's la petite mort.  I made the same  mistake once and was corrected by a French girl.  She told me that it's a really common mistake, but le petit mort means "little corpse" or "little dead man".  Now, you don't want to have one of those, do you?!

To me, sex is all about the senses.  It's the most selfish, self-driven act on earth.    

I'd also say it's adult play in its purest form.
