I encourage additional discussion concerning below. I believe in the good health of our community. The title to my post may have to change. I am open minded.

Without being able to give my credentials, I do work in the infect. disease area. Monkey-Pox at this time is not worrisome as of today's date Late May 2022 to our community in N. America. I know all the news said it can come from sexual contact but really the pox viruses come from any close contact.

We in North. America have a population that has undergone smallpox vaccination. In addition the news about the actual spread IS VERY PRELIMINARY ! I am so afraid we would get trapped into fear after coming out of what we have been faced with the Covid crisis.

I only state and start this discussion because the news sources tried to emphasize sex contact as a source. Sex places us in respiratory closeness. That is it. The disease is spread respiratory route often with long exposure.

...at this point.  I've read a few articles and in one it stated that the fatality rate was "encouragingly low" at 2-4% and is treatable with quick diagnosis and treatment unless a person is very old or has underlying medical conditions.  Symptoms appear and the virus passes within a week or so if dealt with at the onset.  They linked the CDC as source for their info.  So to me, this DOES seem to be coming out of a file folder of choreographed viral (?)demics that we will be rolling thru as we get closer total capitulations of our rights as free Americans.

I wish Ike would have added the Pharma Industrial Complex as well as Fear Inc from the political left in things to be wary of as he left office.

So the question is what, if any, immunity to we have from our small pox vaccinations? Some medical professionals have suggested we do have some.

I am hearing from virologists that YES, there is some conferred immunity as smallpox is related and the over all monkey pox induced response will NOT be as severe.

That is good.

However I am now finding out that aerosolization may NOT be the major source of transmission but only a contributing source. Skin contact maybe a greater source of spread.  What I cannot figure out is this news today that there is a greater predilection for male to male contact ??? ie  male gay spread commonly called today MSM.  Any one ponder why that would be a greater association than heterosexual contact ????

Not sure if they will keep an updated mapping but that would be interesting to have for a few months.

If you were born 1972 or earlier you almost certainly were vaccinated for smallpox.  Unlike the Covid
vaccine it confers life long immunity.  It is effective against Monkey pox.  If you are ypunger than 50 you have to have
close personal contact with an actively infected person.   People stressing out over this shit is probably
more detrimental than the chances of getting this virus
