It seems that under the current review guidelines, TER considers use of the word slut in any way in a review to be insulting, so my review that included the above phrase has not been approved. I did not mean it in an insulting way, but I do get that it might be taken that way.

Curious what others think, particularly ladies - if someone described your look that way, specifically a look that included a very short, plaid skirt and no panties, would you consider that fair or insulting? In my experience, attitudes on this are all over the place - I knew one provider who wanted to be called a whore, while most find that understandably objectionable. But I always considered slutty to be a little more gentle and playful - a bit stronger than calling her a naughty schoolgirl, certainly suggesting a strong interest in sex, but not an insult.

Am I out of touch on this?

thanks,
zig

TER employees don't speak English as their first language. That is the difference.

I think you articulated it very well, the subtle difference between what is considered offensive by some people and what is tolerated, or should even be encouraged on a fuck board...  Now just try and explain the difference to TER, so we can get somewhere...

Also emailed the provider to ask if she finds it offensive.

Another provider was recently telling me about all the people she fucks in her personal life and it made me think about all the people I fuck. Somewhere in the conversation I used the word slut or slutty to describe one or both of us, and she objected. And that was a woman who proudly admits to loving fucking. She just prefers the term polyamorous. Not quite as easy to say, but it also does not have the same negative connotations, I get that.

So we all have our lines, and I am not here to judge whose is correct, just trying to understand if my line is mainstream or fringe. Anyway, I am not going to fight TER on this if the end result is that I either lose the fight or win the right to insult a bunch of people. Not my style.

Just call me a slut,
zig

One of the board hookers explained this a couple of weeks ago.

Sluts are women who fuck for NO money...hence, would not be considered hookers (or prostitutes for the PC crowd).

Try changing "slutty" with hooker (or whore or prostitute...or any other name indicating that she gets paid to fuck johns).  I'm willing to bet you lunch they let it fly  LOL

But for God's sake...don't use escort  :D

BTW...did she put her hair in a ponytail?  And suck on an all-day sucker?

I mean, jeez, this is a board where prostitutes advertise their services and men write reviews about fucking them.  Can we even say "fuck" here?  Recently, I did a role play with my ATF and brought her a slutty schoolgirl outfit because she wanted to play a slutty virgin who gets deflowered by her teacher.
When one of her friends found out, she wanted her own slutty schoolgirl outfit and I did doubles with them.  Hot stuff!  And I have the pix to prove it.  I haven't reviewed it because I've already done one for my ATF and the other girl doesn't qualify for a review here.
Posters on this board use (and discuss the use of) all kinds of words to describe the participants in this game.  To censor reviews over the use of the word "slutty" is beyond ludicrous. Having to use "naughty" instead is lame beyond belief. I hope it's only the language barrier.  Gag me with a spoon.

We've been arguing FOR YEARS on this board about which words are OK and which words are offensive - "hooker, prostitute, whore, call girl, escort, provider, blah, blah, blah" and NONE of us figured out the real truth! It is TER who gets to decide which words are "good" words and which are "bad". "Sl*t", apparently, is a bad word (don't want to get my post pulled) :-)

It is ok in a review to say a woman is plain, homely, ugly, really scary looking, or OK to screw if you are drunk. You can say that her breasts are droopy, really saggy, unattractive or unnatural looking, and that she is flabby, heavy, very fat, or swathed in baby fat. But don't call her a slut. It might hurt her feelings.

Not being a white knight so don't even fucking go there.  There is no GOOD reason to describe any women in any of these terms regardless of context, it just sours the experience for them and makes them feel a resentment towards all of us.  Yes there are exceptions in their ranks, but I doubt you are dealing with the most stable of ladies in those instances.

It doesn't matter if they are trading sex for cash.  To say that justifies treating them in a less than respectful manner is fucking juvenile.  People do far worse for money in all walks of life, and this is clearly an industry that should be legitimatized as has it been in many other countries.

Maybe you think expect private organizations to respect our right to free speech, but there is no such general legal  right,  and I suggest that if you use certain words in work, in school, in Church or in a lot of places, you may be unhappy with the result.

And how did you make this in to a TSA/4th Amendment question, anyway?

I think TER is right in limiting certain language.  I just think "slutty" is a stupid one to pick.  Still, as someone pointed out, that one in is the guidelines, so...

BTW, you are right that  other.countries do not understand our attachment to free speech.  But what they don't understand is that our government does not have the right to shut down speech, particularly political speech.  Generally, it's our right to be bigots, assholes and whatever, without fear of censorship or criminal prosecution. And that's how it should be.   But even if you work for the government , calling a co-worker a cunt is likely to cost you your job. And I don't have a problem with that either.

Like with so many things in life, it all boils down to the situation. Personally, I wouldn't be insulted by that turn of phrase...mainly because I think it's a pretty inaccurate description of me and my look :P.

I think pejoratives in general do boil down to the emotions and/or context behind them. As Belle said in the first episode of Secret Diary of a Call Girl, "Escort, hooker, call girl, whore...I really don't mind what you call me. That's just semantics." And I think that reclaiming words like that can be a way of deflating their negative connotations. Look at the word "dyke" in the LGBTQ community. Just a few years ago, it was a very offensive term applied to lesbians. And it still can be, but now, you do have women proudly proclaiming themselves as dykes.

At the same time, words like hooker, whore and slut are often said with venom and judgment, and I think that those who do not have those words thrown at them with venom and judgment do need to tread carefully if they don't want to be careless douche bags. Of course, many of the people who use those words casually don't really care if they're douche bags or not. And while I do believe in the immortal words of Elanor Roosevelt when it comes to these words, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent," words do have power, and it's hard for them not to sting, at least for a little bit, due to their implications of domination and degradation.

But...considering the types of reviews you write, good sir, and the types of reviews that do get approved here that are nothing more than a bunch of capital letters strung together...I think it is a little ridiculous that your review got rejected based solely on that turn of phrase.

As CPA has pointed out, not all of us pay for provider pussy.  Some do, some don't.  In my case, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Why that may be true is for me to know.  You can believe me or not.  I really don't care.  I know of at least one other monger (also a mis-nomer, btw) who almost never pays providers for sex.  If you ask him why he'll tell you, "because I'm adorable."  But I know he's not just blowing smoke because I know some of the ladies involved.
Does this mean most guys here don't pay?  Of course not.  Most do.  Just not all of us, all of the time.  The moral of all this: beware of blanket generalizations.

As for that monger....err man whore (slut)...yea  LOL

How does that saying go...when you assume?  And then those hookers that only have the comeback of "well...you have to pay for it" simply won't have a comeback  :D

Posted By: inicky46

As I said, whores get paid, tricks pay. When you pay, you're a trick. It's fine and dandy that you don't pay all the time. But you pay sometimes, hence you're a trick...even if it's just some of the time.

So the rest of the time...you're sluts! Rock out with your cocks out and enjoy your respective slutdoms!

There can be days when all of those attributes can apply.  Fun stuff  LOL

So are whores=hookers?  I gotta believe they are based on the statement you made here.  Soooo...when I get paid am I a man hooker?  Kinda sexy if so!

And just to set the record straight...when YOU'RE being a slut (that is fucking a guy and NOT getting paid) do you do so with your tits exposed?  Or am I misinterpreting "rock out with your cocks"?

Who knows...maybe one day we'll have a drink together and you can explain to me your philosophy...in detail.  But just know...I'm not a whore all the time  :D

Funny thing is we have more in common than you may think  LOL

for sex, many times it's just companionship. Last week I did a 3k overnight with no sex, no handjob, no blowjob, no sex, just cuddling during sleep, yet I'm still a hooker, because I'm paid for sex sometimes. You pay for sex sometimes so you'd still be considered a trick. A man who has a lot of sex for free and never for a fee would be a man whore.
There's a difference...

Shit...I'm so fucking confused that I may not hand out any more cards  LOL

Not really. Many women (especially the very high end) do not like reviews of that nature, so by having absolutely NO STANDARDS as to what can be said in reviews, TER loses providers who want to be reviewed here, thus losing money. Providers are paid VIP members as well, if we so choose. This is why many women refuse to post here too, so there is obviously some thinking behind those rules.

seems odd.

Then again: 'Schoolgirl' could just  as easily have been the word that raised a red flag. You don't say one way or the other.

Did they say: you can't say slutty schoolgirl next door. But, it's perfectly fine to say "schoolgirl next door"?

As long as we're talking adults, obviously, I hardly see how that phrase would be construed as insulting on a review board. However, I can see how it could be, potentially, controversial politically; in the sense that it's always a hell of a lot easier to avoid, even a hint of, impropriety than it is to try to fight an accusation after the fact. No matter how absurd the accusation may be.

It's silly really, b/c we all know why we're here, what we're up to.
But since you like to use "hooker", I'd recommend you use "trick" to compliment it. It's fitting, right? ;)
IMO "hobbyist" compliments "provider" and "john" compliments "call girl" or "escort", so yep "trick" would be the best answer to your question. It would compliment your vocabulary much better than the other options.

And "slut" was indeed allowed  :D

Actually it was "slutty".

Thanks for the thread...now we've even resolved what to call some of us johnnie boys so there's no more confusion  LOL

Maybe we should start a thread on whether it's OK to call a hooker a hooker in a review!

Posted By: ziggy440

Am I out of touch on this?

thanks,
zig

Honestly I've never had an issue with either "team" (as in johns/hookers) not labeling ones self.  However as you've seen, and were indeed part of, many players don't like to be called a certain term.  Hence my mocking those that think that a different term indeed changes the reality of, as you commented, why we are here.

If you really paid attention to any of my posts, the terms I throw out there are not demeaning or condescending.  They are simply words that connote what we are and why we are here.  It's those that seem to want to pretend that this is something other than what it is who indeed take offense.

But I will concur with inicky on the use of hobbyist (or gentleman caller).  It's as asinine as calling a hooker a companion (or provider).  Neither is anything remotely close to the literal use of those words.  But if it makes someone feel better about themselves...go for it.

I'll stick with what I am content in saying to those that partake in prostitution.  As we are whores and vipers...plain and simple.  Is it PC to be called anything along those lines now?  I don't really care.  This is what it is...I am what I am..and you are what you are.

As I have said numerous times over the past year or so...insert the word that YOU (or any member wishes to use) in place of hooker or johnnie boy.  The connotation is exactly the same from my POV.  And not meant to degrade.

So as far as labels...I'll let others attach labels to my handles.  I honestly don't care.  Come to think of it...I kind of like the term "viper"  :D

pretend that this is something other than what it is.."

Same as others who may take offense. As escorts, we're all aware that high class escorts / courtesans / companions / providers / escorts / whatever have sex for money just like street walkers, there's no pretending so there's no need to call us "hookers" to make a point. We already know we're essentially "hookers" every time we spend our legs for pay. It's a given. ;)

What it's all about is using labels that don't have that extra sting to them like "trick" or "hooker" when addressing us...you fine men too. I already hear enough people in real life refer to us with those two terms as they almost spit from disgust. I have no interest in emulating them.

Now I will say the one label that always did sound odd to me was "hobbyist" as if a man is collecting stamps when seeing escorts. But know some men who like to be called that, so even if I don't call other men that, I will refer to them in that way.

Anyway, nice conversation tonight, Mr. Viper. ;)
Have a good one! xoxo

1. I will not use slut again. Whatever the definition, it is often used as a slur and people will react to that part.

2. TER did approve the review, unfortunately between when I learned lesson 1 and had revised it, so the bad word is in it. Not sure if I am going to revise it now.

3. I still hate this GD board, and should know better than to ask the question here. No disrespect was meant to the lady in question, I only meant to say that her clothes were a pretty brazen invitation to fuck, and an attractive one at that. Those who used the question to express all this other crap truly annoy me, but hey it is the internet and without assholes and porn it would be a very quiet, empty place.

Guess it was inevitable I would prompt my own train wreck sometime, even if it was just a little one.
