There is also a TER civil service exam where counting to 7 without using your fingers is the requirement. Make up tests are allowed but only twice.

I told Gambler today over drinks that I'd made a list to get to 12, but this is an off the cuff one.  Not sure if that means I'll scratch the exceptionally dumb one or continue this ad nauseum.  Anywho, in an uncharacteristic way for me, I was pretty much away from the boards most of the day.  It started with going for drinks with Gambler as previously reported (there were no fatalities) and ended with me burning vast quantities of fossil fuels while ping-ponging around town for almost 12 hours.  I checked in periodically with my handy dandy smart phone and much to my surprise, I found that I have a small handful of self appointed backup helper moderators.  This goes here, that shouldn't be allowed, why was this pulled, I was told this was OK, and on and on...  Who knew that I needed so many helpers?  This, coupled with the cold weather locally and my having gained a few pounds made me think; these people aren't helpers...they're fucking ELVES!!!!

Oh, and if I can let you in on a secret.  Gambler may be the nicer mod, but it's because he drinks more than me.  Oh wait, I just had coffee, but he still had more of them.

By the way, how does one get to be a moderator?  Do they pay you?  Do you have to go through a training session?  Would you put it on a resume?  Do providers give you free sessions?

Don't know about pay, but one of the conditions is that you wouldn't abuse your position to get freebies from ladies. Also, you have to give up your reviewing privileges.

PS: Calling Gambler "the nicer mod" is one of the funniest things you've ever written.  It's kind of like saying Muammar Gaddafi is "nicer" than Idi Amin. Now do us all a fucking favor and stop at Day 8.  You are pissing me off.

Mods do not get paid. How to become a mod other than "free" VIP. First, providers can't be mods. Second, you have to be a member for at least five year. Third, you have to have a good posting record. Forth you have to have three or more hours to give to TER. Fifth, you have to be willing to abide a long list of rules like not using your modship to get free sex and give up your ability to review.

So being a mod is lots of work (tree or more hours a day) and very little upside (no pay, no free pussy, hell you lose your ability to review, people constantly whining to you, but you do get "free" VIP, get to see behind the curtain, and have access to the Mod only board.) Personally I think you must be nuts to want the job.

To answer your questions about being a moderator.  How to get to be one, a few months back,admin posted that anyone interested in becoming a mod send them a note.  You have to have active posting presence and be able to be online several hours a day.  NO, they don't pay us but we do get free VIP membership.  The downside is that we are not allowed to post reviews.  Tree is no training session either, so once you have been accepted as a mod and assigned a board or boards to moderate, you pretty much just get on this job training, nobody tells you how to do it.  

A resume for what????  I don't think so.....lol.  So far, I have not been offered a free session just because I'm a mod, and don't expect to.  We really can't do anything to help a provider that would warrant henpr giving us a freebie.  We also have nothing to do with the reviews either, although many seem to th.ink we do.
