Well this is pure speculation on my part, but this may stem from recent trends in the pornography industry.  Over the past ten years or so facials have become very popular in most XXX features, even the classier ones.  Seems it has become the most popular way to end scenes.

An even more extreme derivative of this that has recently become popular in the porn industry has been the facination with something called Bukkake, which originates from Japan and is basically a whole bunch of guys (like 50 or so) giving a single girl mass facials.  Frankly, I find the Bukkake thing disgusting and a turn off, but there must be a lot of people who like that sort of thing.

Since pornography has become so popular (a multi-billion dollar industry, and those bucks are coming from everywhere) it naturally follows that many men (and women, for that matter) may become interested in playing out the fantasies they have become accustomed to seeing on screen.
