Cop standing in the open doorway while she talked and I got dressed. As I left Cop quetioned me and took name after short questioning, then let me go. It seems that as far as I could figure out, she had been involved in the disturbance and they were taking her in for at least questioning.

gal or motel since I've been there and done that, but if you told LE anything more than your name, rank, and serial number, then you said too much.

...ten minutes before she told him to come up. BFD. That didn't mean it was safe for him to go up to her room. The cops were still there investigating the disturbance. She knew she was involved and had to know that they would come knocking to ask her questions. But being "low end," she cared more about her payday than putting him at risk. A "high end" gal would have asked him to wait a little longer or she would have cancelled, knowing that a client might be nervous about LE being there and might not want to wait an unknown amount of time for the cops to leave.

This could happen to anyone, anywhere. The price you pay gives you absolutely no indicator of the character of the lady, and you're deluding yourself if you think it does. There are stand-up girls charging $200 and there are complete sketchballs going for much higher
As is the scenario the OP described. Price does not equate with safety.

A goodly number of arrests occur after LE squeezes a confession out of a guy by saying things like: If you just come clean with us we'll make sure you're going to be OK.
So, they sing and the next thing you know you're in the back seat of a black and white taxi to downtown.
Their idea of OK is not exactly the same as ours.

and why she told you about some people involved in a disturbance, but failed to tell you SHE was involved in that disturbance until the cop came to her door? Also was this "disturbance" at all related to prostitution? Does not sound like it, the way you tell the story.

Frankly, if she was in any way linked to the "couple" she should have given you proper warning. Ooops, she did! But not really enough info. In retrospect, it might have been smarter to postpone until LE had cleared the scene. She did not give you a proper heads up... and it could have cost you way more than your donation!
If she didn't want to be drawn into their drama... she could have exited the premisis... gone for coffee or something until LE was gone.
Why would SHE be going to jail? Just wondering. Just another party "claiming" she was a prostitute IS not enough. She might have been booking for the other girl... THAT could get her arrested. You have not given us enough information... if you have it at all.
In my state, if you refuse to properly identify yourself, you can be held until your identity can be established. I believe the law still reads a limit of 48 hours but in class the instructor suggested it might not withstand a court challenge. LE actively avoided providing test cases but that doesn't mean you still couldn't be held/detained/taken in for questioning... for an emarassingly long time. Much better strategy to give them the ID... and nothing else... & then get the F* out of dodge.

Guy picks up hooker in his truck (size of truck was not described), gives girl donation. She declines to have sex. He calls the cops who show up. He tells Police: "she robbed me." He said: "I paid her $$ for sex & she refused."
