Who knows what he might have been thinking.

I checked out your website and went directly to the photos, I'm so shallow. Although I liked what I saw (long auburn hair and what appear to be nice breasts) I found that the photos didn't really show enough to take that chance. I need to feel a bit of chemistry before deciding to make that call. I don't believe that it is necessary to show ALL that you have to offer in your photos but you seem to be as covered up and guarded as my S.O.

As far as the service options that you offer they completely satisfy my interest level.

Just my humble opinion.

earnestness was not sufficient to take on that task, which for most guys who would be truly interested in seeing you would not find cumbersome, or there was something on your website that made him lose interest.

Very few guys only contact one provider when they are looking for a new girl.  Rather than assume that there is a reason why they decided against you I think it's entirely possible that they just picked somebody else.

I select candidates based on ethnicity, rate, reviews and personal website or ads in that order. All other things being equal it's ultimately about a vibe that I my get from her site or from what guys say about her in reviews.

with all the women that claim to be "too busy to be bothered with chit chat", you would think he would be doing her a favor by just not continuing to bother her in he was not interested in booking an appoinment.

There are hundreds of ladies who are too busy to bother with a reply, I don't see you telling them that their behavior is rude or "unladylike".

If I am shopping for a service I don't feel any obligation to tell the "also rans" my reasons why. If she is that interested, she could just ask the gentleman himself.

I couldn't have said it beter myself.

When are people going to get it through their heads that this isn't dating, it's a fucking business. Customers don't owe vendors an explanation for not buying their wares.

Many on these women don't want their eyes opened, they want to have their assed kissed, just like in the civvie world, and there are plenty of white knights around for them to stay used to having their asses kissed.

You have decided you want to play and you want to see a lady you have not visited with in the past. You found her ad on one of the many boards available and you contact her by email. She responds in a timely fashion and directs you to her website and states in her reply back to you."Or feel free to ask me any questions that you may have"

So.. The lady (Me) keeps her eye out waiting to hear back from you but, you have moved on or did not follow up..

My question is?????

WHAT IS IT TYPICALLY, THAT MAKES YOU DECIDE NOT TO SEE HER OR FOLLOW UP WITH HER???????

...was it clear for what purpose you directed him to your web site?  If you were clear it was to fill out your contact form because that's the way you screen, then I have no idea why there was no further contact.  Perhaps he saw your pix there and realized, despite your loveliness, that he'd actually been seeking someone else?  Or, if you were unclear why you wanted him to go to your site maybe he thought he was getting a run-around.  That's all I can think of.  If I want to see someone it's because I've checked them out thoroughly: reviews, pix, site, etc.  So if I go that far with you there'd be no turning back unless you blew me off in some way.

If I emailed you wanting to meet and all you did was direct me to your website I would find that rude and I would move on. As a guy I like to get the warm and fuzzies when a lady replies to my emails. I like the fantasy that you're actually interested in seeing me, and show a minimum of interest in me as a person. I don't like short replies.

I generally try to follow-up. The one scenario where I generally do not follow-up specifically is if I am verifying her general location for an incall. I live closer to Baltimore, but live with the DC region as my TER stomping grounds, so many ladies are in downtown DC or northern VA, both of which are too much of a haul, for me.

So, of the possibilities, these are my usual suspects:
 1) Incall location is not close/convenient enough
 2) Bad schedule or conflicting commitment
 3) Sometimes I may not have checked a lady out as thoroughly as I should have, in the beginning, and I may find her rate to be too high or an issue with a specific service.
 4) I have also learned (after initial contact) that her photos are (to be polite) "somewhat out of date". Also, in this vein, I may get after-the-fact  information that she is a DQ.

Generally I try not to leave a lady hanging, wondering if I might book an appointment. In the specific case you state, and the way you have worded it, I would not feel compelled to respond again unless I was going to book, as your response is very open-ended. You might do better to be more specific and ask for information.

i.e. invite a request for more info from him, but also ask him if there is anything he needs to help make a decision. This is literally a window shopping type activity for the guys. Think of it that way and you might get some more sales...

Perhaps he sent a few appointment requests to a few providers.  And one of the providers already confirmed with him before he could continue his process with you.

You may be a legitimate client.

There are many who aren't.

If providers were perfect then yes, they would be able to smile through all of the bullshit and keep the game face on for every "potential client" contacting her.

They aren't.  Adjust to that fact and spend your money accordingly...with girls who you catch on the good days.

Email is not a very expressive medium, and it often seems colder than it really is.

When I am thinking of booking someone, I am making a large number of assessments about her personality and stuff from very limited data. And let's face it, sometimes very massaged marketing data.

There's an old druidical saying that everyone is three people: who he thinks he is, who others think he is, and who he really is. I am trying to use inferences and correlations from very limited data to figure out who you really are. (Not in terms of identity, but personality.)

I have never gotten into any trouble from NOT seeing a provider. So my default position is "I'm not seeing you." Nobody has a gun to my head, I can afford to be judicious. It is a lot easier for me to change my mind and decide to see someone than it is for me to un-see someone.

If I contact you looking for a session, I am STILL pretty close to that default position, though perhaps very very slightly biased in your favor. But I am going to draw inferences about *who you are as a person* from your communication. There will be correlations. I'll put it all together.

The conclusions I draw in this fashion are NOT set in stone. I realize the dataset is too small for 100% certain conclusions in some cases. So I am always open to re-evaluate based upon subsequent data.

Think of it as a teeter-totter. Initially, it is all the way down on the "not seeing you" side. If I contact you, it is exactly in the center -- it could go either way.

The nature and content of your communication, examined with the care of a forensic psychologist doing the profile of someone who sent a ransom note -- will move a weight on that teeter totter one way or the other.

Without knowing the details of the communication, I can't tell you what went wrong.

It is rare -- practically unheard of -- for me to simply break communication with someone. But I've done it if my evaluation of the nature and content of a lady's communication has supported that.

I ask.

I am sure that I am not the only one that wonders such things and have wondered," How can I do it better or what needs do I need to consider for the gentlemen in such a position? "

The answears so far have been great insight. Thank you..
I spent all day yesterday doing a photoshoot. It is my goal to have the new pics up frist thing on Monday morning. I will never, ever post or send pictures of my face or reveal the goods for the world to see. I am often told I am much, much prettier in person. I know ( gentlemen are visual) If you just want a play pretty to have your way with I am probably not the girl for you. But, if you want the whole package I challange you to take a change.

I agree with Stinky, email chemistry is a difficult balance. One I should work on as well.
From the ladies perspective it is difficult to be let you know how sweet I can be and not spend days doing the back and forth thing. Either you want to see me or you don't? Being too sweet to certain gentlemen give them the idea you are easly taken advantage of.

I will do my best to do a better job of being  more captivating and
alluring.

a lady hanging by not replying to her e-mail is somewhat rude, at least not very polite for a hobbyist who claims to be a gentleman.

After checking your web site, it appears your pics are almost 2-years old.  On first thoughts, I may have e-mailed you as a plan B or plan C for that reason; not know what other options exist in your area.  Just my $.02.

It could be a lot of things.  It could be like window shopping where you look at various things but you're not ready to make a purchase quite yet.  I've done that from time to time where I'll inquire about a provider, get some info and then move on.  I think when it happens it's because I'm not a serious buyer in the first place.  I may even like everything I see but for whatever reason I just don't want to buy (from anyone) at the time.  Could be timing, money, nerves, whatever.

The answers others have given above are insightful, and apply to me in some cases as well.  Another possibility - on your website you write that you will see "white professional men, 30+.". Perhaps some of your prospects don't meet one or more of these criteria, and they are just respecting your boundaries?  Would be more polite if they relied to your email, I agree, but I can also see how they might be disappointed that they didn't "qualify."

I think many ladies really forget this. They want to be the "Soup Nazi." Follow all my rules and don't speak to me if you're not handing me money. Don't ask for specials, don't ask for details.

I know not all ladies are like this, but the ones that are tend to be the most vocal, and so us guys skew that direction in are perceptions of the ladies.

I wonder what these same ladies are like when shopping for shoes ;) (In fact I saw one lady's post as she was complaining about rude salespeople who seemed only interested in her if she had money in her hand. The customer is always right she said. This same lady asks people to keep communication with her "as short as possible." Put your time request as the subject. Her time is too valuable to deal with her potential customers. Bwwaaahahaha soooo hypocritical!)

Do you ever try on a pair of shoes or clothing promising to get back to the salesperson when you make up your mind? After walking around the mall, you find something else you like better, do you ever go back to the original store just to say "I won't be buying from you?" Why not? And there is your answer. Why did you not buy from that person? The reasons are endless, and they are pretty much the same reasons a gentleman would give to you.

As an exercise for the ladies, think about this the next time you're shopping for shoes or clothes. How would the salespeople come off if they acted like you do towards your potential customers? For some, it might be an eye-opener.

Look at it this way:

Typically, click through rates on online banner consumer ads (as opposed to business to business ads, which have an even lower response rate) and emails are around 1%. Click conversion rates, meaning people who respond to these ads who then decide to make a purchase online, are even lower. Now, I know this guy obtained your email address from a board and contacted you directly. But, keeping it in perspective, the ratio of inquiries to actual bookings you receive will always be very high.

There are providers in existence who I have booked simply on the strength of the impression they conveyed to me via their website text and email communication.

Especially given your marketing niche, as a courtesan, the importance of communication skills can't be understated.

You asked for opinions and I assume your intent was to find out how to keep those "shoppers" from going elsewhere after the initial contact?  Good move...seriously.  Good for you for asking.

For me...I'm pretty picky.  I personally like very sensual and passionate women, so if I read "Can you handle me?" or "You better be ready for this wild ride!" and things like that, I shy away and move on.  Nothing personal.  Just not what I like.  Everyone is different.  There could've been one little word on your site that made this guy take pause.  I also worry a lot about safety.  So I may make initial contact and then when I hear what part of town it's in or something, I move on.

Could've been anything.  I wouldn't worry about it too much.

hahaha, yeah, a lot of girls are hypocritical and unrealistic. It's makes them bitchy when faced with real life.

Do me a favor and never try on something you don't buy. Never walk into a car dealership without driving away in a new car. Never ask for a menu at a restaurant, just give the server your money and hope for the best! Oh, and never EVER ask, "Does that come with xyz?" Shoot, and don't ever ask your waiter for change, he isn't a bank for god's sake!

Directing to the website is like getting "Listen Carefully our menu has changed" "Press eight for account information" then a recorded voice comes on "Please enter your 16 digit Card Number" Repeats it back to you then asks "Is this correct? " Press or say 1" and the saga continues.

Some providers seems to think that we, hobbits have lots and lots of time. Most of us don't, some of us work long hours, can't get away from work very easily, so on, and so forth.

My typical day is like 9 to 10 hours sometimes more. Some times I am in 6:30 or 7:00 out at 6:30 or 7:00. When I have some free time and get the itch, all I want to do is find someone. Mostly have struck with providers and agencies I know to get around the reference hassle.

Some people don't. No one really knows which and how many databases the information is replicated. Unless you are hosting yourself, you absolutely have no control and many host at a hosting site and everyone of them backup everything every night and have complete access to the database.

Your password doesn't do squat when someone else has administrative privileges, none. The admin has complete access.

In this instance I laughed out loud and spewed coffee on my lap top reading this series of posts.  A lady asks a reasonable question in my mind.  One any business person should ask themselves and their customer base often, "What can I do to improve my sales?"

Some people respond civilly and with useful information, respondents such as Monk, Bostonguy, holeydiver, and inicky reply with sound comments in a civil manner and may inform the original poster.

Others, specifically Tessen and WhiteKnightrepellant, make very similar points but appear to intentionally package it in bellicose wording.  It conjures up in my mind an image of a couple angry old men who are still convinced women’s suffrage is a passing fad and the world will be better off when we repeal their right to vote.  Or the two white haired gents in the theater box of The Muppets:  all knowing and believing it is their divine right to belittle people less enlightened than they are.

I probably have an peculiar sense of humor some days but it was just the thought that passed through my mind as I read this.  Have a good day everyone.

Many providers don't answer e-mails at all, or sometimes take several days or a week to respond. If I am travelling on business with a short window of opportunity, I may contact several providers just to be sure I get a response from 1 of them.

If you respond in a reasonable amount of time, I will respond back. If you take your time, I probably won't answer your e-mail at all.

that men ARE actually paying for the service.  thus they want what they are looking for.  if you are looking for a car, you tend to shop for what interests you.  if you want a bmw, you don't want a salesman to push a ford on you because "it fulfills the same function".  plus, what else are you going to do?  you're going to find the best bmw for the best price.  what baffles my mind are the men out there that PAY to see the Fattest, ugliest, oldest women.  WHY???????  unless they are dirt cheap, and the ones i'm talking about are asking for an average donation.  so why spend the amount of money you could get a bmw for and get a 1970 pinto???????????   i know, men have diff fetishes, but damn.  and no, i'm no great hot body, but i'm not trying to sell my body.
