Especially if you have one of those phones where you have to, say, push the #2 button 3 times to make the letter C, etc. Do you know how long it would take to type - "That sounds wonderful. I'm looking forward to it." on one of those cheap ass phones? Meanwhile she's trying to get her shit together before you get there.
I say - FUCK text. When did it become too much work to speak to someone?
I'm half your age and I hate texting...well...unless it's a dirty message with a picture of her pu...nevermind. I'm as current on tech as anyone, I have to be...doesn't mean I like all of it.
With so many ladies using text or email for the initial contact, it brings up a situation, Unlike phone calls, it is very hard to convey emotion; the exchange can be very dry. Recently, I almost backed out of meeting a lady because it was so business-like and unemotional while her ad which drew me in (on top of great reviews) was just the opposite. Discretion is one thing, sounding like an email from my boss is another! Now I do realize that you have to be very careful in the beginning not to say certain things, but would it be asking too much to a least sound like a lady and say "That sounds wonderful. I'm looking forward to it." To me, this is another part of building the rapport and chemistry. That's all.
not all ladies (or gents for that matter) involved in this hobby (or in general) can emote too well! I suppose that the first (unwritten) rule that every newbie (Provider or Hobbyist) gets lectured on in this Hobby is the term of, "do not get emotionally attached to the client/provider" rule. Some people are merely not well mannered when it comes to the art of communication (upbringing, education and career path has a lot to do with this) and some people just seem to equate displaying etiquette and mannerism to some sort of emotional weakness and the lowering of the proverbial "wall" around them. To those who consciously or subconsciously think that RUDE EQUALS COOL, I would say that IMO, the OP would be correct in this case.
There are some that are more outgoing than others. Some ladies might want to get the initial info from you and make sure you are a gentleman before having more of a conversation.Every one is different on how they reply to gentleman some are flirty and some are very businesslike. You can never be too cautious when replying initially to a gentleman because you do not know this person. After the necessary info is verified I have no problem with an occasional flirty email. When I am contacted by a gentleman I always ask a few questions on what brings him to town if it is vacation I might ask does he gamble or is he going to check out a show.I try to make my response not so much business but still getting the business out of the way at the same time if that makes sense.

I haven't seen a lot at all ask for text as initial contact (that just seems weird to me) but email yeah, I mean if you want to do initial contact/screening by email that's all good to me but like you I want to hear another voice at the end but then again in the beginning it kinda should be businesslike because well it is in the end but that should all change once you enter the room. If she has such great reviews doesn't seem like they were for nothing.
I hate texting. On T-Day I got 4 texes, one from my daughter, sister and two other ladies. I didn't respond to any of them. You want to pickup the phone and talk to me I'll be there. I feel the same way about making appointments with the ladies. I need to hear their voice; the emotion, the enthusiasm, how well they speak, are they comfortable with themselves and most important do they sound honest. I need to HEAR it!
Honestly, I hate talking on the phone. Even in my private life too LOL. However, I will do it if a gentleman I am going to see prefers phone contact. When I'm not with someone, I don't like to spend a ton of time in my hotel room, so a lot of times when I'm not occupied, I'll be out at a restaurant or working out or shopping, where it's hard to have a discreet phone conversation.
You sound like you're as old as me! The younger generation lives to text. One of my kids texts much more than he actually places real phone calls. Personally, I never text, don't really even know how and don't care to learn. While I was still un-retired it was well into the Blackberry era and I refused to get one of those either. I figured, "If you need to hear back from me it can wait until I'm ready to talk to you." It worked fine back in 2002 but I doubt I could get away with it today.

First and foremost is getting the verification process out the way before building the rapport and chemistry. I'm uplifting even thru email because regardless to me not haven't met you or spoken to you I want to knock some of that nervousness off you and make you feel comfortable communicating with me so you will be looking forward to meeting me. So I might say hey sweeti or darlin send over the required screening information, so we can get this ball rolling, can't wait to meet you...no harm in this. Although I'm all business I don't want it to seem like it's all mechanical. So I understand your point.
Yeah, yeah, I know. I actually had a funny exchange with my ATF in which she said she hated Jersey guys because they were always texting her to send them a picture of her pussy (she actually said they said "twat."). So, being the un-PC guy I am, I hit her back with, "Oh yeah, and send me a picture of your twat." She did! What a girl!
