Was thinking of suggesting a reviewer reputation system whereby those that write thorough and well thought-out reviews are acknowledged and thanked for it in the form of reputation points that other VIP members could add to (for example, if someone writes out a thorough and helpful review then VIP members could thank that reviewer by giving them 1 reputation point).  Everyones reputation score would always be posted alongside their username, both in the forum and in reviews, so as to give the userbase at least 'some' incentive to put some effort into their reviews. You could also use this as a perk for VIP membership (the ability to gain reputation points). Many forums around the web have similar features, why not TER?

It's already easy to tell who writes decent, and credible reviews, and who doesn't.

It's already a rating system.  Why do we need another?

i would just worry about your own reputation..no need to concern yourself about everyone elses..

I like to decide for myself whose reviews to trust and those to ignore. Don't need anyone else to tell me that.

idea except, it is open to the same problems as the others.  Who decides, the monitors who reject arbitrarily?  Award writing ability, who knows if it's truth?  Nice thought.
