Suggestion and Policy

The best part is.....

....the policy is so inconsistant from board to board.  My feeling is if you are a paying VIP member, you should be unmoderated until you screw up once or twice.  On one board you can ask and you get unmoderated immediately, on another the moderator said, "once you post 10 reviews, I'll unmoderate you".  It is very frustrating when you may post some useful information or want to be part of a discussion and it takes 2 days to appear....just my .02.

Plus, a one week or one month suspension rather than a ban w/o an explaination would also be better.

I post time sensitive ads/info for a few ladies and 1/2 the time they don't even go up. I'm quite familiar with the rules and the Mod(s) I have to deal with don't even open the mail requesting an explaination of what line was crossed.

I've requested unmoderated status in every way that was suggested. If there's a clear single source to ask, I'd love to hear it.

I understand there's a spamming issue in some of the cities, but I feel removing or editing posts, rather than "guarding the gate" is a better way to moderate a forum. VIPs should have much freer reign to post. Moderate the UNpaid users. I see nonsense go up quicker than actual content sometimes.

I feel it's an unecesary bottleneck in the system. But, I only know what I see from my perspective. Maybe it varies from mod to mod. Maybe TER staff, admin or support isn't giving mods clear, unilateral perameters/mandates and it's resulting in alot of individual interpretation. I really wish there was a little less opacity in the system.

Well, I actually consider that moderating. My problem is when you try to post legitimate stuff and it just never appears.

There's moderating and then there's gatekeeping. VIPs oughta be able to post with relative impunity as long as they keep it constructive and don't flame or troll. If they do, warn or suspend, but don't ban for a first offense unless what was said was to deliberately and egregously line crossing as to demonstrate overt malice.

Warn, suspend, 2nd longer suspension, then ban?

For each type of offense. Some noob might stumble across a few various infractions in the course of a day and inadvetantly get 3 strikes in 3 different ways.

Bottom line is let it be a community and not a police state. The police watch and correct, they don't distribute permission slips for every little thing and hand free rein to the selectively chosen. Unless this place is so fragile that it requires a 24/7 virtual police state to keep it from devolving into a CraigsList spamming shit storm.

Just put it into the TER rules that a mass spammer will forfeit his TER payment. Non-members get moderated and spammers will not have wiggle room.
