No, no, no. Not the character of the TER member. That would be a bunch of negative numbers, a few zeros and maybe a couple of positives.

Even if someone hits "reply" and quotes someone else's post, if there's no additional content added beyond the quotation, then append EOM or something similar to the end of the title.
What I mean by CC is: The TER software already seems capable of counting the number of letters, numbers and spaces entered into the standard forms and boxes and prevents you from going over a preset limit. The posting software already automatically appends the date, the time and updates the number of reads, e.g.,
"EOM automatically applied to empty posts - by numpty88, 5/27/2016 12:43:52 PM (4 reads)"
With very little programming effort, the software could automatically add the character count and readers can decide whether or not to open the post, EOM or not EOM. If I'm in a hurry, I'm not going to read somebody's 20,000 character essay, no matter what. 20 - 100 words, 100 - 500 CC, I can take a look.
"EOM automatically applied to empty posts - by numpty88, 5/27/2016 12:43:52 PM *123 characters* (4 reads)"
If the previous post is quoted, the reader can estimate how much has been added.
Previous-post ... 500 characters
reply-quoted ... 500 CC = EOM
reply-quoted ... 1000 CC = added something
One way or the other, providing an automated clue to content size would be most welcome.
