(No pun intended)

In flat mode in Beta, the THREADS are sorted by which have the most recent posts.  So the posts per se aren't listed in reverse chronological order, but at least you can easily see which threads have the most recent posts. Then you have to click on each thread to see the posts within and find the most recent ones.

Right. Thanks. The threads are ordered on the board by which was most recently active, but the posts within a thread are still chronological. I thought that's what the OP was talking about, but on rereading, maybe not. It's a little unclear.

Nothing wrong IMO with putting recent threads on top, but I would not want the thread itself in reverse chronological. That seems bizarre, but that's just me.

Another option would be a "subscribe to this thread" button, so you get a pm when a comment is added to that thread, even if it is not a response to your comment. Personally, if I'm that interested in a thread I'll just keep an eye on it, but some folks like the subscribe option.

LoL, "sort" of!

I thought I saw a preview section of the page that seemed have the last post for each thread -- that might let the OP accomplish what he needs: see current responses even for old threads. It doesn't just show new posts regardless of associated thread but ....

There are good, popular forums out there built upon free Open Source forum software built, maintained and upgraded by various consortia. I think they should have gone that route: lots of features, full time debuggers and improvers, ... and FREE!

Maybe this already exists, but I haven't been able to find it.

It would be nice if you could organize the board results by the date a message is posted.

Many times someones posts a response to an older thread, and there is no convenient way to know. I'd like to be able to press a button (like the Overview button) and see all of the postings ordered by the most recent.

Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

Maybe I'm just not seeing an option that already exists?
