That's because no useful information is communicated to anyone by "liking" something in the current structure.  This leads to posts like "totally! Eom" -- not a big deal, but there's little purpose to the Like button here.  Shrug.

If the site popped up WHO liked a post, people might actually use the feature. As it is, there's really no point to even having it.

It's well under 1%.  As in, a post with 500 views and dozens of comments will have, at most 2-3 likes.  There's absolutely nothing interesting to anyone created by someone hitting "Like" right now. So no one does.
