Other boards have some self governance and it seems to work out OK.  One in particular, require either 2 or 3 vets to sign off with approval before it get's posted.  I'm guessing if it doesn't seem to work, they find alternates that can do the work.

Ok, will let you maggots rip me up for this one, but.....
Since it takes the TER gods days...and days.....to approve a review....

Perhaps have a rotating group of longtime reviewers help approve reviews?
They must have...(insert whatever) qualfications.....# of years, Minimum # of reviews.....  and none of these shitty 3 line reviews that amount to nothing.....

Ok....let your opinions rip my idea up.....

Go!

Then why not go all the way and suggest your panel be composed of aliases? Or, put another way, if you're going to suggest this why not do it under your handle?
[Note: using my alias to post this is part of the joke.]

As expected, not a thumbs up or down on my idea....... in the "Suggestion & Ploicy" board.....
What difference does it make that I put this post under an alias? The idea of "volunteers" to help TER get the reviews posted more quickly doesn't mean that everyone would also see WHO the reviewer is?

Maybe "think" about being productive and helping the site be better, as opposed to being an ass?

Yes, you were "joking", but save it for the "general board" where the rest of the armchair QB's reside to daily bash everyone else.

AI might be able to perform basic screening for particular criteria or violations of policy in a review. E.g., checked a particular performance item on the form but makes no mention of it in the Juicy Details.  (If it "adds a point" to the max score, it must have happened and not just imagined.) E.g., missing a current link to an ad. Etc.. AI sends the submission back to the Reviewer with a list of defects to be fixed.
.
Since many people posting to TER have little or no intelligence anyway, maybe a volunteer force of humans with their own artificial intelligence would be cheaper than using computer AI to perform the basic screening before TER Staff get to the final (and now faster) analysis.

Well, another thing. This place used to work with volunteer mods. TER got sick of it and axed them all years ago. Personally, I think it was a mistake. But to imagine TER would use volunteers for its most important function is just a silly fantasy.

Other boards have some self governance and it seems to work out OK.  One in particular, require either 2 or 3 vets to sign off with approval before it get's posted.  I'm guessing if it doesn't seem to work, they find alternates that can do the work.

Again, just looking for ideas to "speed up", review approvals.

And to the previous response...YES, I do understand that TER used to use volunteers.....and it became a clusterfuck.  Perhaps "term limits" (which I advocate for ALL politicians BTW....  no re-elections.  Get voted in...you're doing the job up until the last day before your successor moves in...no time wasted "campaigning")  Hence, why a suggestion would be to rotate volunteers after someone serving a "term" (a few months, annual?  etc)

Otherwise, I welcome any better suggestions.  By the time some reviews are posted, a travelling provider will have possibly already moved on.  I've had a few reviews delayed or rejected because the gal wasn't at the agency any longer, because it too TER forever to post my review, and hence the website I said she was on was incorrect.

I actually disagree it became "a clusterfuck." What I'm saying is simply that, considering TER axed volunteer mods, it's not realistic to imagine they'd try it again. I actually thought TER worked really well during the volunteer mod era. But that will never happen again.

You're probably right, but it would be nice to get reviews approved more quickly.  I think we all would agree.......
