Yes, calling baseball players "athletes" is sometimes kind of a stretch

Here's my take on which sports are truly "sports" and which ones like golf, bowling et al should be more accurately be called "games". If you can play your sport/game of choice while drinking beer it's a game not a sport. I can very easily see a Bartolo Colon sipping on a beer between innings, how about you? lol

That man's ass is getting bigger and bigger. I mean it's ridiculously big and disgusting looking.. I just saw him this afternoon on NBC at the celebrity golf.  

 
I remember when he was in good shape.

I spent a few months in Birmingham during the mid 90's at the same time that Michael Jordan decided to try his hand at baseball, during that time Jordan and Barkley were a regular site at all the golf courses in the area and I ran into them several times. Barkley was hardly what you would call "in shape" even way back then.  

 
I haven't seen John Smoltz in years, but he used to gamble at one of the same Mississippi Casinos where I used to be a regular and I've seen him play golf. I honestly believe that if he wasn't such a great fucking pitcher he might have had a career on the PGA, and yes Smoltzie looked very good for his age the last time I saw him, which I will concede was quite some time ago, but well after he retired from baseball.  

 
As for Vinny Del Negro, I will confess, I had to Google him. lol

what people would consider as rotund by basketball players standards..When you click on that link, and look at his 90s pic...well not so bad.. You look at him know, you can wager that this dude frequents In n Out Burgers like we frequent bathroom. LOL

 
But again, I am a baseball fan first, and we have a great deal of players who fall in the "Bartolo Colon" category

Now speaking of shenanigans between the innings, I read that Darryl Strawberry used to have sex between innings. Not sure how it is even possible.. But that's what he said publicly..

.. he apparently started drinking alcohol and chewing even before he reached his teens... Sadly, as a result he died at a very young age of 53 from cancer.
