What is problem with drew brees knees, are any saints fans worried about his energy, I know saints won superbowl but I dont think they can match last year, big injuries to bush and brees, cant help them, and are scrambling for a good field goal kicker, I know its only 1 loss but I find saints less hungry than last year, seems like so many superstars have mad injuries this year, ki

"First, let's not bury New Orleans. They are 2-1 after 3 games, loosing in OT after their FG kicker missed a chip shot. They easily could be 3-0."
"There is no correlation between one year to the next. That's why 1/2 the teams that made the playoffs one year, don't make it the next."

Why blame it all on the FG kicker when Mr. perfect threw two interceptions.
I see a cloudy future and rapid decline in the Saints play off chances.

Everyone on the cover has been doomed with injury or subsequent obscurity.Last years cover,Brett Favre is soon retiring..Doesn't take a psychic to figure that out.

First, let's not bury New Orleans. They are 2-1 after 3 games, loosing in OT after their FG kicker missed a chip shot. They easily could be 3-0. You can't make any statements about how they'll play this season as they've played only 3 games. You certainly can't make any statements about their lack of desire or passion at this point in the season. They are "just as hungry" as the other 31 teams in the league. It's way too early. Right now, I do not see a reason why the Saints won't stay in the playoff mix throughout the season.

Now, they way the NFL is structured today, it is very difficult to repeat. First, I think the speed and physicality of the game have changed so dramatically that players get hurt much easier. Key injuries can derail a season in heartbeat. Of all sports, football is a sport of attrition. The teams that win are generally the ones that stayed healthy. You simply can not loose star players in this league and sustain success. So you look at New Orleans in 2010 and they have already lost Reggie Bush for over a month. If Drew Brees is bothered by a knee injury and can't perform at a high level, obviously the Saints will suffer. Secondly, the other reason its difficult to repeat as champions is due to free agency and the salary cap. These two things have made maintaining dynasties virtually impossible. There is such turnover on rosters every year, it makes cohesiveness tough. The Steelers of the 70's and 49ers of the 80's would never have been able to keep those rosters together.

Each year in the NFL is its own entity. There is no correlation between one year to the next. That's why 1/2 the teams that made the playoffs one year, don't make it the next. The NFL in essence has created a system of mediocrity. 8 teams will prob. win 10 or more games. 8 teams will prob. win 6 or fewer games. Which means the other 16 teams will hover around .500 (7-9, 8-8, and 9-7). Perfect for the NFL! 3/4 of the league will have a chance for the playoffs going into the last quarter of the season. Dynasties are boring (unless you are a fan of that team). The more teams that are in the playoff hunt, the more fans get excited which translates to more interest and ultimately more revenue for the owners.

in beating the patriots and dolphins without revis island. Mr. taylor certainly proved to MR. parcells he is not donE. wHEN JASON had that sack and made a jesture to the Parcells that was off hook, i almost lost it, THE beauty was when Rex reed threw the gatorade on Taylor another amazing  moment , something only Rex would do. Braylon Edwards how clutch was that touchdown. Dont forget that Ravens only won by 1 point and my coaching staff didnt allow Mr. Sanchez to play game, too much fear for Ray Lewis, Trust me in my humble opinion the NFL IS GREATEST SPORTS IN THE WORLD, I LOVE MY NFL, I MIsSED HOWARD COSELL, HE MADE MONDAY night insane, how sad to monday night football on abc. i remember  classic games browns vs steelers, oilers vs steelers, i remember all players in 70s, also steelers vs raiders, or redskins vs giants where lawrence taylor broke theismann leg by accident of course, never forget history of game, the only sport that continues its dominance, nba and mlb will never be what it was, nfl will always be great.

But after many many years of shitty Saint's teams the Who Dat Nation is sort of a fatalistic bunch.  Great party if they win, if they lose, oh well, still gonna go party.

Geaux Saints,
