What the hell am I gonna do with myself for the next 9 months.  Happens every year I go through a slight, or maybe not so slight, NFL withdrawal.  Hmmm maybe I should start going to church.  Nope, I think I'll go gambling instead today.

What do you football junkies do once the season has ended?

Now is the time of year that real sports begin!  Go fast, turn left, drink beer and yell YEE-HAW.

something to keep us mildly entertained while the best game in the world -- baseball -- takes a few months off.

Baseball is still and will always be America's pastime.

The NFL is simply Gamblers' Pastime.

I have always felt that February is the worst month of the year for sports. The Super Bowl is over the first week of February and then we are left with meaningless sporting events until about the second week of March when college basketball becomes relevent.

If you think about February you have meaningless NBA/NHL regular season games (if you can't make the playoffs in either sport, you are really not very good to begin with), meaningless college basketball games (again, all you have to do is make the NCAA tournament...there really is no crucial, must watch regular season NCAA game, ever), meaningless Spring training Baseball (featuring drills/activities and intra squad games...now that's exciting!!), meaningless golf tournaments (until the Masters in April), meaningless tennis tournaments (If you care, the French Open, I think, is in May), meaningless horse racing (Until May and the Derby), Hardy has never watched more than 2 minutes of any one auto race, so I don't feel qualified to comment on the timing of their season.

If they would start the NFL season a week or two later with the goal to then have the Super Bowl over President's week, it would at least take some of the sting of watching useless sporting events during the first 1/2 of February. Perhaps with an 18 game season on the horizon, this will become a reality.

March Madness, yea The Masters, regular Season Baseball, not much on spring training, so so on Go Fast-Turn Left. July is when baseball get really good and the Tour de France starts. Did he say "Tour de France". Yea it's great, one of the few things the damn French get right.

Now I don't expect you guys to discuss this sport here so I'll watch it quitely and just enjoy. Oh yea, we will get to see a new sport this year, well not new but seldom played. It's call the NFL Labor Negotations. Should be interesting.

Best sport in the world.

And since I'm a Michigan fan, I can't wait to get the bad taste out of my mouth of what has truly been a pathetic period in the school's great football history.  It's beyond embarrassing and there's only so much a fan can take!
