...he waisted this whole year for us! I don't know why he waited so long, should have announced it on his Sunday TV show after the Half Ass U loss.

His heart was never in it all season, he just deligated & never coached, kinda like Bobby Bowden did for his last 8 or 9 years.

Hope he figures things out for himself.

Thanks for the 5 previous seasons.

Florida looked very "UnGatorlike" last year.

It is not he who forced himself to come back. It is the AD who urged him to reconsider and return after some  time off.

Some times athletic directors need to take decisions at face value and not always try to change coaches minds.

Is it really the health issues or is he in seminal conversations with Pat Bowlen? One has to wonder since the talent evaluation period is quickly coming upon us.

Last year he was "retired" for all of 24 hrs.  Let's see how long it lasts this year?  Anyone have a nice home for sale in the Denver area, a new buyer may hit town soon!!

Sportscenter is running a story that Florida will hold a press conference later today to announce that Urban Meyer is stepping down as Florida football coach. I'm not really surprised by this move. He had the health issues last year and took a leave of absence. Also, at times during the past season, he looked lost.

Looks to me like Meyer saw his record this year and his returning players and resigned due to "health reasons" to avoid getting fired in 2 years.  He at least saves face this way.  He can thank Tim Tebow for any future coaching offers he may get.  He just better stick to college, because he would be a terrible NFL head coach.

which he mailed in-I don't get it-but I don't buy the health issues or family thing-Would like to see the Boise coach come to Florida-great innovator and his teams are always fun to watch-the Gator job is perhaps the best in the land with great alumni, great weather and great recruiting with Florida always having a treasure trove of talent-wish Urban the best, but this year was a stinker and he looked like a deer in the headlights half the time-the offense was very predictable and the 2 QB system just didn't work well-I'll miss him and think he left with a lot more to do in Gainesville-1rob
