to stay at the game and blow off the first scheduled tv commercial in first period so viewers could see the standing O that Modo got. Wasn't as long or as special as the one he got in the last game of last season but it was a nice show of appreciation for what he did for the sport down there. It's nice to talk some pucks on this board!
Mike got a raw deal and I for one hope he comes back and pulls a Ray Bourke and wins the trophy. He deserves it more than most!
Standing O was great but nothing can compare to the over 5 minute one in the finale. I don't think I could take another one of those as I cried for hours and couldn't stop. I was at the game and seeing him cry made it all the worse. Grown men were tearing up it was so extraordinary!
I still hate Joe Nieuwendyk which is saying alot as he was one of my faves.
It would be awesome to see Modo win a cup a la Ray Bourque. He has done so much for the sport in Big D and throughout the USA. Keep in mind Raymond asked for a trade and he won the Cup with COL in his second season there. Don't hate Nieuwy for making the move. He is in a tough spot like most GM's in the sport nowadays with the salary cap.
