Another true gentleman of sports.  Like it said in the song "Talkin Baseball", Mickie, Willie and The Duke!! Sadly only Willie Mays is the only one of the three left.  Condolences to his family.

Another great old timer!  Most of us AARP members probably have fond memories of a by gone era

yes, I am older than dirt-smile-Duke Snider was one of my first sports heroes-He was pretty good defensively and made a no. of great catches in center in Ebbetts Field-as well as swinging a great bat-He was very instrumental in bringing the Dodgers their first championship in 1955-One of the 'Boys of Summer' whose numbers are sadly diminishing-RIP Duke, thanks for the memories-you were a great one-

The Duke was part of the baseball's Golden Era in NY, which is just a little before my time.  Still, one of my late uncle's was an avid Brooklyn Dodger fan before they left for LA, and he told us that the Duke was on par with Willie and the Mick, which is rarified territory indeed.  The numbers back that, as does the Legend.  Fortunately, the Duke was generous in signing autographs in his later years, and I have several.
