As a Viking fan living right here, I saw it as an ominous sign that we hadn't heard anything from him in almost three weeks. I was worried that maybe he was serious about retiring or that ankle has more complications than we thought.

Now if he is really back, I hope his ankle can make it through the season and we can finish the job.

Say what you will about him, I like watching him play and how he plays the game. He is one of the few rich and highly paid athletes today that isn't spoiled. Forget all the practice BS, once he is on the field as a competitor he spills his guts out. That cannot be said about many athletes today...i.e Lebron, Haynesworth, Moss and a whole lot more.

I agree. I enjoy watching him play. Just get tired of his "do i/don't i" games.

I heard several of the Vikings went down there to try to talk him into coming back. Were they successful?

The latest on ESPN is that he is, in fact, on his way to join the Vikings.
