Brandon Beachy is not exactly a household name, I had never heard of him until an hour ago, but he's our man tonight. I hope Bobby Cox knows what he is doing. The betting line raced up to +180 on the announced pitching change.

If any team needs to win their division and homefield advantage to advance in the playoffs, it's the Braves, holder of the best home record in baseball, but a dismal road record.

It's "put up" or "shut up" time for the Braves. They go against Hamels, Halladay and Oswalt in this series. With 12 games left, this is a series they pretty much have to sweep.

Sure would be nice to "stick a fork in the Braves" before that 3-game series in ATL to end the regular season.  A sweep in Philly this week will certain go a long way to making that happen!

I'm a Braves fan but you have to hand it to the Phillies right now. Ten victories in a row including 3 straight over the Braves...pretty damned impressive! They have really "stepped it up a notch."

Yeah, that's probably the quietest 10-game winning streak in a while. Their 3 aces really stepped up, just like they're supposed to.
