Tebow later won another championship at Florida, as a starter...

I've been reading hit and miss comments and just not making any sense out of it.  As a gator once, I sort of would like to see him get his chance on the field but what I read seems to suggest he's just excess baggage.  Some say he's considered a likely trade to somewhere, others say he's just not up to the task of being an NFL QB, still others say he's perfectly capable but won't get the chance to show it.

I'm confused.  Anyone know the real deal?

Why did the get him if they didn't want him. Maybe he was caught in a change of the guard. But to tell you the truth Denver hasn't made much sense for several years.

Being that the coach who drafted him in the 1st round was axed after less then 2 seasons tells me the new regime doesn't think much of him. The scouting reports on Tebow were such a wide-range that one has difficulty assessing his capabilities and whether he can overcome the mechanical flaws in his game.

Tebow is multi talented, tough, and has a great work ethic, but his unconventional style has not won over the new unproven coach. I think he'd make a Hell of a tight end, and he still could play QB in some NFL systems. If I were Tebow, I'd request a trade.  Denver is going nowhere no matter who starts at QB.

I don't have any knowledge on how the coach feels about Tebow, so I won't comment on that...

I will say that with Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn also on the roster, two QBs that have started for multiple seasons in the NFL, I don't see any way that Tebow could break through and even be 2nd on the depth chart.

Is Tebow a better QB RIGHT NOW than Orton or Quinn? No.
Does Tebow have more of an upside in the future than Orton or Quinn? Even this is questionable. I think Orton has shown us all he has to offer and won't be getting any better. Quinn MIGHT have some more upside.

Tebow is still a project at this point, and will only succeed at an organization willing to waste a season or team on him.

......the message depnds on the source.  I think he will get play time this year, but as a Gator, you must remember, that as good as he was as a freshman, he did not start.  It is also the same year that Florida won the National Championship.  Being number two is not always a bad thing.  He played great against the Cowboys.

The NFL needs him.  Like him, or hate him, he keeps his nose to the grindstone, and his butt out of trouble.

Hugs and Kisses
