This has less to do with the players--although their safety is also a concern--it's mostly about the public's safety.  Philadelphia's getting slammed with 20" of snow today, and there's no time to clear roads, parking lots, etc., to allow for public safety.

Good call by league.

what ever happened to playing in all conditions.

I bet the city of Philadelphia leaned hard on the league to postpone the game.  For public safety reasons, yes...but also because they may've felt that the snowy field could've negated our speed advantage, and possibly caused injuries to key players heading into the playoffs.

Sure, it would've been fun to watch a game played in a SNOWPOCOLYPSE!  But since it's my team, I'd rather we play on Tuesday under safer field conditions, so as to minimize the risk of injuries--and to keep our speed advantage.  If we win out, and GB beats the Bears like I think they will next week, we get a bye!

I heard from a freind who lives in the area and he said that the mayor did more than lean hard on the league but basically told them the stadium is closed due to the storm.

Thank you

I don't know, but ya gotta love Penna. Governor Rendell's comments that we've become a nation of wussies. LOL

it probably was a good decision. It probably would have been pretty brutal on players and fans. But you know, a snow or ice bowl would have been fun. And sitting in San Diego watching would have been great.

I was stuck watching the Charges get beat and couldn't say a word. It was with a whole lot of famialy and everyone was for the Chargers. The kids were crying, some of the grown ups were really mad about it and all I could manage was a few oh wow, that's too bad. Had to go outside a few times to laugh.

Wasn't any cheering at the end.

The Chargers oughta be embarrassed by that display.  Even Chris Berman and Tom Jackson called them out for not being up for the game.
