Cleveland was outmatched by Orlando, and Orlando knew it as the series played on, and they drew strength from it...especially Dwight Howard. Le Bron scored 40-ish in this series because he had to. Howard scored 40 last night because he could. The Cavs weaknesses were able to be exploited by a team that matched up against them well in a series much better than they could have in an individual game this year. What made for the best regular season record couldn't hold up in a series against a team that had a way to exploit your weaknesses.
As for Denver, the same thing could be said to a certain extent, that they weren't able to defend the Lakers in the end and that if they were taken out of their game, they didn't have the options to beat LA (see Billups in game 6 for that). Really, though, it comes down to the fact that the Lakers are the NBA version of the Detroit Red Wings at this point...resistance is futile. Kobe is on a mission more than he ever has been, and is making just about all the right decisions. Gasol is a rock solid second option. And they almost always have at least one or two more people pick up the slack offensively, while the whole team usually plays good defense. They are WELL COACHED, and they will win the title this year.
Yes, Lebron's lack of a supporting cast finally caught up to him. He only scored 4 points in the 4th quarter. Howard went at Ilgauskas from the opening tip and scored against him anytime he wanted.
Which made the shit boring. I hate blowouts. It kills everything interesting about the game. I like when things are close and back and forth etc. But the two teams that wanted it the most got it.
