Too bad the Kings have DOMINATED Chicago the last two games!!! Having already beaten arguably the two best teams in the NHL already in the first two rounds, I don't see the Kings having too much trouble with the Blackhawks
No argument here. The Kings rode Quick to the cup 2 years ago. This year they are scoring more so he does not have to be as dominant. Their overall defense has been outstanding too.
You'd know most of the goals scored by the Kings against the Blackhawks weren't the fault of Crawford. There have been numerous breakdowns of their defense, letting guys camp in front of the goal (no body on body or stick on stick contact), not effectively clearing pucks from the zone, weak forechecking, not shutting down shooting lanes, and bad penalties (providing too many powerplays). It's easy to blame the goaltender for goals, but in actuality, if his defensive front isn't doing their job the best goalie on the planet will get scored on repeatedly. Yes, even Jonathon Quick.
Found this pic of him however. He figured "how hard can this be"?
Those of us who actually play the game know...those who don't and never did...blame a goalie.
Nice effort last night by Lundquist...woops..he did get yanked as well. I seem to recall Roy getting yanked a few times as well. And Dave Dryden and so on and so on.
But when your goaltender isn't the best player on the ice...tough to win. Not to mention when your best players aren't playing as your best players. Anyone want to tell Kane, Hossa and Sharp that it's OK to score? And some offense from Keith wouldn't be a bad thing either
