So we pounded on the poor Redskins. Now this is the team we have to root for to beat Dallas. LOL! *sigh*
Our best hope is for Denver to beat Philly, then last game of the season Philly will need to beat Dallas for home field in the first round. That would be a pretty good scenario.
Not feeling very hopefull overall, but hope is not yet lost.
Let's put it this way...if the G-men don't make it, I will be disappointed, but hey, the Yanks won this year, so I'll take it in stride. I'll be in Vegas during AVN week-end, and I'll place my bets accordingly. If they do, I have a darkhorse to bet on.
Key thing at this point is that Big Blue win both games remaining. Considering that one of those games is on the road vs. the Vikings, that can't be counted upon. Still, we have the tie-breaker against Dallas, so if we finish with identical records, we're in, they go home.
Justice in Washington, D.C (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of a courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Washington Redskins Football Team, whom the boy and the court system firmly believe are not capable of beating anyone.
If Philly and Dallas both win this week (Eagles would be then be at 11-4 and Dallas at 10-5) then Philly still has to beat Dallas the last game of the season to win the division. If Dallas wins out and finishes 11-5 and Philly finishes 11-5, Dallas wins the division by virtue of beating the Eagles twice. The Eagles become a wildcard and play on the road. Not as appealing.
The best case for the Giants is to win their two (I think they beat Carolina, but have no idea what to expect from the Vikings) and have Philly beat Dallas the last game. Then Dallas/Giants finish 10-6 and the Giants get the tiebreaker.
Or, the Packers could loose a game, but I don't see it. They are not loosing this week to Seattle in Green Bay and if the Cardinals have nothing to play for in the season finale, I think the Packers win out there as well. I see the Packers at 11-5 and getting the # 5 seed and a return trip to Arizona the following week for a playoff game.
