For $45 bucks you can watch the best players in the world as close as though they were playing at your club. Skip the big names in the stadium and stay in the general admission area the first two days where it's first come- first serve for courtside seats.

    You can take the subway from Manhattan right to the  courts and they actually have great food - check out the Black
Forest Ham and Brie sandwich on a  Kaiser roll.

     You really cannot appreciate on television how hard the pros hit the ball these days. For someone who grew up on McEnroe, Borg, and Connors, I've had to admit that the players in the 30 to 50 range today are all probably better players.

   And probably the biggest change is in the women's game where I've had to admit I couldn't take a game off these gals even when I was at my peak playing daily in college. I think I'd  trade my entire stock portfolio for a backhand like Justine Henin but it was never meant to be.

I will venture to guess your current stock portfolio couldn't even buy a forest ham and brie sandwich on a kaiser roll (lol).

I use to follow tennis during the Connors, McEnroe, then Sampras and Agassi eras. Those players were great players with personalities. Today's players seem to be too mechanical. Though earlier this year I was in Indian Wells playing golf, and did stop by for the Indian Wells tournament. I have to admit some of these European women are really hot. I can't pronounce, let alone spell their names, but I wouldn't mind spending time with Caroline Wozniack.

Sorry, but this is the start of the college football season and tailgate parties. Do you know what would happen to me if I brought forest ham and brie sandwiches on a kaiser roll to a tailgate party? Yeah you're right. I'd get my ass kicked.

   As for the gals, there will never be another Anna Kournikovia who might be the best looking female relatively to her success in he sport of all time. Don't give me this "she never won a tournament"  - she was number 4 in the world as a teenager and 90% of the women on the WTA at any given time will retire without winning a tournament
